2015 was pretty sub-par, but we essentially all agree Blackstar was fucking amazing and we have good shit like pic related to look forward to. Do you think the year will stay this consistent?
>Blackstar was fucking amazing
>and we have good shit like pic related to look forward to
Delete this thread you pleb. Blackstar was mediocre but David Bowie died therefore it;s the greatest ever blah blah whatever.
If Floridada is anything to go by then AnCo's next album will be their worst yet by a stupid margin.
It's pop, lazily draped in psych textures. It's a complete 180 on what makes(what made) AnCo great - they molded pop to suit them, now they mold to suit pop. Basic pop progression, basic pop rhythm, basic pop structure and then trippy textures to trick plebs like you into thinking it's not ass. Fuck off.
I just said my genuine opinion about the album, regardless of what anyone says about it.
The way the album explore the concept of death is among the most powerful i have ever heard.
IMO, it's an album deserving of a classic status.
You clearly do not understand the things the album talks about.
I suspect you did not even really try to understand.
Give the album a honest listen anon, try to understand the things he talks about and see how you feel about it.
Pure autism and faggotry
Oh wow anon you really showed me!
Now, being serious - let me tell you something. You are trying to shame someone over the internet because he has an opinion about a certain album you disagree with. do you realize how ridiculous you are being?
do you really think people are going to say "oh wow, now that he shames me because i genuinely loved an album he dislikes, i'm totally going to suddenly like different things!"? it does not work that way anon, and the fact you keep trying to shame others for loving some albums as if everyone should match your opinion is silly and immature.
I hope you realize how ridiculous you are.
almost can't believe i paid transatlantic shipping for this but honestly it's so pretty i couldn't help myself
idk but i love it, i'm surprised it was the "oh shit we ran out of copies" pressing,
New Oranssi Pazuzu should be good
Blackstar was GOAT, new Lycus was great as was Jesu/SKM split
new Tortoise and Abbath were total ass and new LSD and the Search for God EP was disappointing
1. anderson paak - malibu
2. venomous concept - kick me
3. daughter - not to disappear
4. anchoress - confessions
5. david bowie - blackstar
6. dylan leblanc - cautionary
7. lisa hilton - nocturnal
8. abbath - abbath
9. agoraphobic nosebleed - arc
10. charles lloyd - long to see
11. savages - adore life
12. smoke rings - boxes
13. new couch party - chameleon
14. brothers osbourne - pawn shop
15. half japanese - perfect
Blackstar was not only a great album, we'll probably never will have another album with that kind of context (an artist using his last months producing art about his own death). It's such a unique album, we'll die without hlistening to something comparable.
Not too much I'm looking forward to right now. Possibly new St. Vincent is really it besides some miscellaneous bands I like that is more wishful thinking than anything.
Blackstar was great though so there's that.
>2015 was pretty sub-par
The only people that think any year for music is "sub-par" are people that don't make an effort to listen to music outside of Pitchfork lists.
How can anyone say that when there's so much material released every year?
Umm 2015 was one of the best years of rock/metal music:
Three Days Grace - Human
Saint Asonia - Saint Asonia
Lindemann - Skills In Pills
Nightwish - Endless Forms Most Beautiful
Slayer - Repentless
Nuclear Vomit - Chlew
Muse - Drones
Killing Joke - Pylon
wasnt early anco better because they focused on sound more than they foucused on writing. i will say STGSTV had some great pop writing but their new stuff is all about great production and well developed sounds, all in a palatable format
Why? Cos i didnt list any rap albums who use no instruments or talent?
Sorry dude but I prefer talent with my music. Okay Nuclear Vomit isnt real 'talent like' with the way they play but still.. you seriously call everything else I listed as bait?
Have they even given any word on what's up with the album the last few years? I think the last I saw about it was from the mid 00s if that. They could at least give their fans some peace of mind with some info about it.
oh cool I won't have to buy this just for the cover
I know how much most people here fucking despise Andrew Jackson Jihad but it seems they might be realizing a new album this year too. So on top of all the hype for AnCo, Radiohead and that jazz I'm pretty hyped for that too.
>New PJ Harvey
>New LCD Soundsystem
>New Tim Hecker
>New Massive Attack
>New Animal Collective
>New Autechre (Possibly)
>New Björk (Possibly)
>New Arcade Fire (Possibly)
should be a great year desu
