So is everyone just pretending to like David Bowie because he died?
>>61952656
Of corsh
Yep. Don't worry OP, we'll pretend to like you too when you die.
stay is fucking great holy shit.
station to station as a whole is god-tier.
>>61952692
no we won't
>>61952656
No, we're just coming out of the woodwork now because we're emotional about it.
Has anyone ever met anyone who doesn't like David Bowie?
>>61952773
All of my closest friends, like very dear friends for years give me shit for being a fan. I was talking to a girl about how cathartic it was seeing the huge response to his death and she was like "Yeah, who isn't a fan?" It was a bizarre moment, because his popularity was an abstract for me. My buddies always rolled their eyes and listened to their high browed sound-bath music.

>tfw always enjoyed David Bowie songs
>never got interested in his albums until Blackstar single was released
>thoroughly enjoyed the full album, spent 3 days listening to it and unwrapping it slowly,
>excited to see what the rest of his discography holds
>excited to see what David Bowie will be capable of in the future
>David Bowie dies
Fug

It felt like the album was a start of a whole new era so it sucks that he died. Heroes and Low will always be godly though. The only thing I'm pissed about now is that if I mention I like Bowie, people think I'm one of those bandwagon jumpers that only give a shit when the person dies.
Nah. Consider this: nobody will pretend to like you when you die, OP.

>>61952891
I was just asking a question, why'd you get so mad
Never really had an opinion on Bowie before he died. What music of his I had heard seemed boring so I didn't look into it. After going through his biggest albums recently (Eno Trilogy, Ziggy Stardust, Space Oddity, Aladdin Sane, Blackstar) I can pretty definitively say I don't like David Bowie now.
>>61952656
the general public is, as always, but around here, he was king
>>61953059
Not trolling or mad, but what music do you like? I've noticed most people can like at least one of his albums.
>>61952712
>not word on a wing
Stay is great tho
>>61952878
>The only thing I'm pissed about now is that if I mention I like Bowie, people think I'm one of those bandwagon jumpers that only give a shit when the person dies.
This so fucking much. It stops after I sperg the shit out them with the Bowie lore in Scary Monsters or something like that
>>61952878
Ok, I'll stop listening to his songs then. Would that please you?
>>61952773
yes
I've loved David Bowie since I was 5 years old. Labyrinth was one of my favorite films, and I got into the big singles through my childhood from there, and then got into Diamond Dogs and Hunky Dory and the rest of Ziggy Stardust, and every time I would "discover" another album and talk about it, literally everyone I knew would tell me to "shut the fuck up and stop being so gay about Bowie"
>>61952656
No. We were all a little homo for him though.
>>61954520
THE GORGEOUS MAN IN THAT GIF IS NOW A BUNCH OF ASHES
FUCK WHY IS DEATH SO TERRIFYING BROS
>>61952656
>Knows he has cancer for about 1 and a half years
>Slowly dying and doesn't say anything
>Instead of live every day to the fullest surrounded by loved ones he makes an album for his fans as a last goodbye
>This selfless man only got 62 years
Gonna fucking miss you Bowie.
>>61952878
>>61953225
Just stop giving a fuck what people think.
Scary Monsters is the best album he's ever made, just saying.
>>61954856
69 years.
Just like every single time a famous artist dies. You must be a really young dumb cunt to never have noticed before.

I dont care for him.
Why listen to popular music when there's music written by geniuses who actually understand how music works?
Bach, Schoenberg, Bartok, Ferneyhough. Popular music just doesn't compare so I dont pay attention.
>>61954520
im not even gay but what is happening to my dick
On /mu/?
Are you kidding?
/mu/ would have gleefully licked his asshole clean on January 9th, 2016.
>>61955704
*tips music theory degree from community college*
i pretended to like him before he died. Hell i was pretending to like him when you were too young to know what a bowie was
>>61955704
>Bach, Schoenberg, Bartok, Ferneyhough. Popular music just doesn't compare so I dont pay attention.
Good to hear from you, Yngwie.
Your last record kind of sucked. Hire a singer.
>>61955704
It's always useful to analyse how different genres work and appreciate what they do right. Your elitism is an ironic display of ignorance.
Always was a fan of the early stuff. Didn't care for him when he started the whole Thin White Duke phase, and beyond. Still respect it, but I know my tastes, and what era I'll gravitate towards. Gimme the gay hippie stuff. Gimme Ziggy. Gimme Alladin Sane and Diamond Dogs. Stop after 1975. (At least I'm honest)
>>61952656
But I had young americans, heroes and low on vinyl long before he passed
Do you realize Bowie was an immensely discussed musician here before his death?
>>61952712
goat album
>>61952656
/mu/ has always liked bowie. he just wasn't meme'd this hard
>buy and sell records for extra cash
>get home from work one day and see all bowie albums in stock have sold
>packaging and comment to brother how weird it is all the bowie albums sold that day
>he says "maybe he died or something"
>I had just heard he died on npr that morning but forgot
>>61952846
I really, really like this picture.
>>61954520
hnng
>>61952656
there were pretty much daily threads about bowie and in every "musicians whose deaths will hit the hardest" bowie was within the first five posted. all the people shilling the "bowie only good cuz ded" meme must either be pretty new or have a severe memory problem
>>61952656
I've liked him since Earthling came out.
>>61955937
The Man Who Sold the World wasn't gay hippie shit. If anything it's a rip on all the rock music that was prevalent during that time, musically at least.
Though there is some dispute that Bowie only did the lyrics on that album...
