I'd say the pleb choices are Only Shallow and When You Sleep.

Sometimes gets undeserved hate from hipsters like you, but it's actually one of the best songs on the album.

'Only Shallow', 'I Only Said', 'To Here Knows When', 'When You Sleep', 'Sometimes' and 'Soon' are all legit choices.

Choosing anything else outta that album for best track is absolute plebity.

THKW is actually better on the EP same with soon. they were less dense on the EPs and the depth had more clarity. No doubt it's a fantastic song but the other 3 just achieve the aesthetic they tried to achieve better. When You Sleep is truly their trippiest, and WYW and loomer are truly their most authentically emotional songs. the music of those three really captures something most modern rock doesn't, and it's in the lack of disparity between the artist's vision and the product, without any of the cliche or niche they sometimes subject themselves to (mbv)

It's still a good song but it's the least Loveless-y on the album. Whereas Loveless generally creates this hazy, dreamlike atmosphere that's all its own, Sometimes feels almost concrete, like a bit of a coming down to earth in comparison. That's not inherently a bad thing but if I were to show someone who knows nothing about shoegaze any song from the album it'd easily be Sometimes. Any other choice, save maybe When You Sleep, might sound too noisy and abstract at first.

Not a single person here discusses the nuances or subtleties of music pieces or goes into a deeper discussion of it than "X is pleb-tier/goat-tier".
