post normies who are unaware of their place in the music world
>I should mention that this is on Nevermind the Bullocks
shit you should have mentioned that first
AY /MU/ HELP ME REAL QUICK, I'm trying to remember some youtube post that's a rant rallying against hipsters and the dude drops a hilarious fake band name, it was like Johnny Cocksucker and the something something. Anyone got it?
>tfw when you are a normie trying hard to get better tastes
Hate being shamed for it.
>trying to get better tastes
no taste is better than your own anon. No euphemism intended. Seriously who cares if someone else hates your music, I think as long as you have an open mind and a diverse taste then who gives a fuck. Just don't say stupid shit like "animal collective is too weird for me"
this banal subjectivity outlook is the easiest way to fall into mediocrity
if you want to get into this line of thinking you may as well point out that life is objectively meaningless and that no one's achievements are any greater than your own
sure, it's true, but it's not going to get you very far
>no one's achievements are greater than your own
more like who gives a fuck. My dream is to move to rural canada and live in a cabin in the woods in total seclusion. Who gives a shit who did what, we're all going to die anyway.
>Who gives a shit who did what
many people have done many great things, many interesting things, things which could totally change your perception about everything
I used to think exactly like you do, and I still realise that objectively it is the case, but objectivity is not the way to go about deciding what is a rational way to live your extremely subjective existence
you'll come around to it one day, I'm sure
>From that moment on I knew my generation was fucked
>From one encounter with one person who didn't know a musician from the 70's it's safe to include that my generation of a billion people are unanimously fucked.
Why does she do this? >:(
everybody knows I'm a muthafuckin monsta
Are these the only known OK Computer B-Sides?
when I was in high school my pe teacher asked what I was listening to, was mastodons first album. after that she assumed that I only listened to black metal and was obsessed with destruction and self hate.
>not recognizing obvious pasta
>not recognizing what might be the most transparent b8 ever conceived
holy shit people believe anything these days
If you're going to do work that requires concentration then yes I tend to get distracted and prefer to study in silence. However, when I'm about to do some tasks that hardly require any reflection e.g. math tasks I feel excited to play music while studying... until I get stucked then I get vexed and stop it altogether to focus.
The whole normie/non normie thing is just silly, juvenile bullshit in the first place.
But sure dude, why would want to not be a normie like wow we're normal people what an insult
>won't argue with me
>has a stunning three or four forms of pop music they will listen to
yeah sorry this is all normie shit. i think your ideals are good in theory, but in execution it always relies on being an insular fuckwit liking the same Pitchfork BNM garbage and not being willing to argue. no one would care or get defensive about your taste being normie tier if you wouldn't post all the time about how ~diverse~ your taste is.
>solving the of life
>okay shut the fak up
>listened to classical music for the 3 years and haven't solved the of life yet
>Writing in cursive is something special to him
>Optimism and bright smiles
i think i'm a normie irl - girlfriend, good grades, multiple open career paths, comfort in social situations. with music, i don't consider myself such because i've spent the vast majority of my free time for 7 years listening to increasingly challenging forms of music, and i get violently angry at online threads where people are wrong about music.
>terrible edgy lyrics
>bad muddy production
>the synth/samlpe stuff sounds really out of place on all of the songs
>the vocalists terrible voice
There might be more but that is all i can think of at the top of my head
>implying the synth sounding weird isn't a great artistic choice
>implying singers vocals aren't the perfect dissonance to clean rapping of the other guy
>not liking edgy lyrics
whats wrong wit u
why are you?
why don't you? why do you want to die in the first place if you don't mind me asking?
>>haha your a're all normies
i didn't say this at all, nor did i insinuate this
could hide the names, but why fucking bother
>Why did the centipede hurt? Because he had to listen to this.
nice barnum statements
There seems to be a similarity that runs through all scorpios...We overthink life. We have a deep respect for nature. And frankly, we are sick of our society.
Not only does this have nothing to do with American attitudes to cursive, but also it is completely wrong. The majority of 'classic' American writing either verges on children's literature (Salinger) or is poorly written (Pynchon).
By 'poorly written' I mean simply that the grammar, expression and sentence structure is sub-par. Pynchon's writing is sloppy as fuck, but protected by the excuse of being experimental. Same goes for Danielewski, for example. Again, I'm talking about basic writing quality, not narrative structure, etc.
you're making it sound as if they're subpar writers rather than using it as an expressionistic writing style. the 'basic writing quality' comes into play in the overall story or style. are you fucking retarded
>sloppy writing with poor sentence structure = expressionistic writing style
This belief is exactly what I'm talking about. Only American writers seem to believe this. Other writers can be experimental as fuck but you still know they can write. American writers just scrawl poorly formed crap which thinks it is more profound than it is.
>you're making it sound as if they're subpar writers
Yes, that was my entire argument.
>the 'basic writing quality' comes into play in the overall story or style
No. Being able to write well at a basic sentence level is separate from having good story, structure or style. A good writer doesn't write sloppily at a fundamental level and assume that his 'overall story or style' will act as a substitute.
Please do go ahead and name some of the American writers who "have owned the Anglo literary world".
oh i'm not arguing that american writers 'own the anglo literary world', i'd give that to the Europeans, i'm just defending the idea that choosing to write outside the traditional 'correct' way does in no way impede the quality of a writer. look at the True History of the Kelly Gang, there's almost no commas and it just runs on for almost paragraphs at a time, but that's trying to mimic the writing level of an outlaw. you know peter carey can write, but he's choosing not to in a way that can be considered experimental.
I haven't left my room in weeks. I haven't talked to my friends at school, I only talk with 3 people online and I have serious depression. My social skills have degraded and suicide is becoming a more and more appealing option as the days go by.
>Pynchon's writing is sloppy as fuck
Absolutely wrong, there is virtually nothing sloppy about his writing. Even in Pynchon's most confusing and conscious-shattering passages he always maintains total control over his language and rhythm. I've read every one of his books and not once have I seen a single word out of place or a serious grammatical error; they are all products of extreme attention to detail and consideration of his audience.
There's a marked difference between being unable to follow conventional rules of grammar and consciously choosing not to. Learn to recognize it please.
A long time ago there was a kid arguing on facebook about music. The dude was young so but intelligent so all the fucks belittled him on his age and were super aggressive. If i remember correctly it was about punk music, does anyone have the screencap?
I'm not a normie by choice, normality is perverse, however I'm still an extrovert
>I always was, asshole.
>I always was, asshole
I'm actually proud of her. It's juvenile to advertise like this, but she's 16 so it fits. desu 20th century music will be remembered as a renaissance period in music. In the next 50 years it will become increasingly apparent that we essentially discovered peak music sometime this decade.
I mean, in the 20th century we figured out all sorts of new technologies to apply to music, I don't think anyone doubts that is was a renaissance. If you think that music is somehow going to decline in quality in the next 50 years then I disagree. I think the last bits of the 20th century laid the groundwork for future music.
Except these faggots are equally snarky about their music taste, albeit with one-tenth the knowledge that most people have here. It is way more cringie-inducing really, at least people here are somewhat self-aware. But in general, people should enjoy what they enjoy and shut the fuck up.
I dont know what makes me feel like shit the most, the fact that this people exist, or that such a smart 13 year old had to put with them, and stupid people will look at that argument and say "lol, lucas got fucking destroyed"
This whole fucking thread if filled with oblivious normies who don't have any fucking idea what trolling means.
Almost all snapshots you autists posted are from people writing that shit ironically.
GOD. this board is full of idiotic 13 year old oblivious faggots who can't understand irony.
>This fucking shit
It might be inmature and stupid, but I'm glad /b/ or whoever it was raided these faggots. That gave me a sense of closure.
When did radioed make an interesting song
