/nbbmn/ was great last year
lots of industrial black metal
lots of comfy memes

Because there's nothing to discuss concerning the Kings of Metal. You just gotta do the sign of the hammer and blast it at full volume.

I really miss NBBMN a lot because /metal/ was filled people who actually like metal, not just a bunch of /mu/ drone atmoshitters

Okay.

Hail To England > Battle Hymns > Kings of Metal > Triumph of Steel > Sign of the Hammer > Warriors of the World > Louder Than Hell > Gods of War > Lords of Steel > Battle Hymns MMXI > Kings of Metal MMXIV

Atmospheric sludge, and caverncore is atmospheric death metal with cavernous production, usually severely devoid of musical talent so they hide it behind the shit production
>>
>>61932425
>>61932498
Then why is this above atmospheric black which has some really good stuff,
except, maybe that its not metal anymore
, link related https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jv-HBOA9E0w

these lyrics though

Because the few good caverncore artists outweigh the few good atmoblack artists in terms of quality of composition, though maybe there are some extremely well hidden gems idk about, the atmoblack that people listen to here is just terrible, urfaust and burzum are pretty good though, also atmoblack really doesn't sound like metal to me but call it whatever you like

I really liked it until 0:22 through 0:26 happened, but so far after that there's been no hiccups of garbage interrupting the goodness. Of course with random interventions of "tech" tropes already present so soon into the song, I imagine the well is already poisoned.

What do you guys think of this review? It's thing to criticize political lyrics, but from what I can tell, the lyrics are the ONLY think they didn't like about the album, which got a D. unless it's hip hop or other lyric based genres (inb4) then i don't think it should be use to criticize it that much, specially on metal where lyrics oftenly (NOT ALWAYS THO) don't matter and are just an after thought

i think it deserves to be acclaimed however if there' some actual insightful political/social implications in it though, like Zombie by Fela Kuti

Yeah, metal fans overall seem to put less emphasis on lyrics than fans of other genres, so it seems reasonable that criticism of metal should focus more on other parts of the music. However, reviewers often disregard this because...
>>61937413
...as this guy points out, reviewers chronically default to analyzing lyrics. I think it's because music journalists necessarily work in an verbal medium, so the verbal elements of music are the easiest thing for them to engage.
>>
>>61937654
that's because ''professional'' reviewers are just in it for the $$$ like most reviewers, you ether trust independent reviewers like Memetano and Scaruffi (and i'd advise you not to) or you trust yourself and try to have conversations with open minded people, which i'm fortunate enough to be able to have

I got the album just a bit ago and finished listening to it literally just minutes ago and I gotta say the reviewer is a friggin idiot. Although Dave's conservatism kinda bugs me, his lyrics are obviously not to be taken seriously. He sings about things happening in the post apocalypse, I mean on Peace Sells he has a song about a conjuring ritual and another about a psycho killer and ANOTHER about playing Russian roulette. Has this reviewer never listened to metal before? Not all metal bands have to be extreme with their lyrics by any means but Megadeth has always had a provocative streak about them and from what I heard on Dystopia it doesn't sound any different than any other metal bands out there. The music was great, I really enjoyed the album quite a bit, and I think it'll be spinning constantly in my car stereo over the next several months.

You said your music teacher, yes? That means you're taking music classes, yes?
