That's a pretty safe list of albums that are mostly respected on here.
>>61931856
what keeps this from being a 10/10 for me is the fact that the earlier single versions of Mongoloid and Satisfaction destroy the album versions.

Nah, that's only true with Jocko Homo.
The early versions of the Satisfaction and Mongoloid are too rough.
>>61932291
>The early versions of the Satisfaction and Mongoloid are too rough.
I disagree. The only problem with them are the recording quality. also, I fucking HATE that drum machine in mongoloid on the album version.
>>61932365
Drum machine? Do you mean you just don't like the way the drums sound? Because everything on Q&A is ALLLLLLL Alan
Also, bringing it back to Satisfaction, that song got better when they were able to play it faster. The live performances of that song where it goes by lightning fast are the best.
>>61932499
there's a drum machine in sync with Alan's playing, I'm positive. It sounds too mechanical to simply be him mimicking that style. Listen to it on headphones.
>Also, bringing it back to Satisfaction, that song got better when they were able to play it faster. The live performances of that song where it goes by lightning fast are the best.
It was also a lot more raw live. I don't know, I guess for early Devo, I prefer a more raw sound.
>>61932559
Did just that, and I don't see it. It's certainly been produced to SOUND mechanical, but I can't hear any kind of backing track.
Alan was always described a walking, talking, drum machine anyway and this just sounds like proof of that.
>>61932718
I guess it's just how they processed the drums then. I just don't think that sound fits the song. I like the earlier version and the lives versions much better. Just something about that sounds kills the build up for me.
makes me feels so warm
takes me right back to LA
Just so calming
