Hip Hop general
What's /hhg/ hyped for this year? I'm personally hyped for Slime Season 3. Who knows, maybe it will top the masterpiece that is Barter 6.
I can't find any sort of appeal in this, beat is something I've heard 100 times before, flow is tuneless and he just sounds bored, and the squawking is fucking obnoxious. Why is he so popular with hipsters? No black guy would be caught dead listening to this.
Not that guy but I don't think it's bad at all. Homos don't like niggers because they are responsible for a massive amount of AIDS and crime in the community. It only make sense for nigger fans to feel similarly about fags
>This is a meme album.
I havnt finish the cover yet but
New Akon featuring Future.
That's right I said fucking AKON.
We eatin' senpai.
Holy shit I just discovered the funniest thing.
You guys remember B.o.B? The old pop rapper from a few years ago? Nothin' On Me? Airplanes? All those songs that were on the top of the charts like 6 years ago.
He's a straight up conspiracy theorist now. Check his Twitter. Nigga is talking all this shit about how the Earth is flat, and went on a tangent about the Mandela Effect because everyone misquotes the "No, I am your father line" in Star Wars. He also thinks he's being censored by the government or some shit which is why his popularity has dwindled.
He's lost his fucking mind. His new music has this same undertone as well.
Here's a song about the Earth being flat.
Here's one where he calls healthcare the "modern day Adolf Hitler".
Jesus Christ this can't be real...
I know he made a song about Illuminati telling people to fuck off and use their own minds like 4-5 years ago but what has he become
>cant stand the popularity bud
popularity doesn't mean shit when it comes to music
I used to be a big Kendrick fan, I've listened to all his music, but you can't deny the fact that he is now a meme rapper
He's literally now "Muh Race" the Rapper, TPAB wasn't that good compared to GKMC
Only got 10/10 because of white guilt fags and because it was "experimental"
He didn't come through like he did in GKMC or Section 80
>meeting up with a qt next week
>she's obsessed with J Dilla
>only related albums I have are Donut, Fantastic Vol 2, and Ruff Draft
thanks for reminding me to bump to danny brown. What do you think he'll do next?
Good Fridays are the best
Logic's production is dope.
Stainless, minus the hook.
I am the greatest beat.
weak b8, best song with that.
let's talk about how Khayree is one of the greatest producers of all time, especially on this dope one
Champion Sound maybe? not even my type of hip hop but I got respect for it and bought the reissue double CD a few weeks ago and ripped it
don't do this. your (fake) encyclopedic knowledge of his work won't impress her. bitches love getting people to like things they like, and it'll give way more room for convo than some circlejerk that isn't even sincere.
like yeah listen to everything cuz dilla tha gawd, but only after she tells you to
new denzel curry track is p good desu
New Esh & Arc tomorrow. Anyone interested?
Not soon enough. Has anyone leaked it yet?
I fucking love conspiracy rap but he's just so mediocre at it, its boring.
Everyones waiting for the album. Its going to be very "experimental", which sounds good.
I'm so pumped. However if this is any indication, this will be better than 32 Zel.
Anyone else bump this? One of the best mixtapes I've heard, production sounds like it was done by a major label. Dude's been on hiatus but is supposedly dropping an album/mixtape this year.
Hewwo /hhg/. I'm just getting into hip-hop and going through the supposed essentials on the /mu/core charts, but the following albums I really enjoyed:
Young Thug - Barter 6
Rakim/Eric B. - Paid in Full
Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold us Back
Mobb Deep - The Infamous
I like Kendrick Lamar's "good kid M.A.A.D. city" and Kanye West to an extent, but I prefer that raw, trap sound, production, and lyrics more of Young Thug which I am going back to. Older albums such as "Paid in Full" I enjoyed because of its naivety that evoke nostalgia of the 90s for me. Any recommendations of contemporaries or older albums I can get?
>tfw still waiting for Jay Electronica debut
2016 it will happen, r-right guys? G-guys?
Been listening to a lot of Afro-sama, Bones, KiddBuu, and Xavier Wulf. Any recommendations? I like how Bones does those metal/rock screams.
I been checking out each of their teams but anyone else?
$uicideboy$, nothing, nowhere, and night lovell kinda fit in that lane i guess.
It was, I'm just hoping Imperial is better.
Just get that leaked album, The Awakening. It should hold you over.
Killstation has a lot of that screaming stuff. Plus all his mixtapes are free.
Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, Killer Mike, OuterSpace, Diabolic.
For something for more cloud rap based the song Blacktivist by Flatbush Zombies.
For something more anarchist then Bottle of Humans by Sole and anything by MC Enoch.
For something for southern influenced look up K-Rino.
L'Orange - Time? Astonishing!
Blu & Exile - Below the Heavens
King Geedorah - Take Me to Your Leader
Freddie Gibbs - Pinata
Nickelus F/Shawn Kemp - Trick Dice
Ab-Soul - Control System
Da$h - 17 More Minutes
Lil Ugly Mane - Uneven Compromise
Wiki - Lil Me
Gucci Mane - East Atlanta Santa
Freddie Gibbs - Shadow of A Doubt
Chief Keef - Back from the Dead 2
Gucci Mane - Trap Back
Future - DS2
check these out
guys, what's the rawest shit there is?
a lot of rap seems focused on production, i'm asking for the complete opposite of that, i'm just asking for shit that's as raws as it gets
Fyre is the rawest group i know of btw
Doomtree is pretty raw. Death Grips is raw but it's literal meme /mu/core music and nobody actually enjoys listening to it unless they also enjoy listening to super blackcore satan metal.
Just gave it a listen and was really surprised. Every single song on there was good and he had a nice mix of bangers and chill music. He reminds me a little of Rockie Fresh but only the sense that he's not a bad emcee at all just that it still feels like he's missing something and is really helped out by the beats. That being said he's a much better emcee than Rockie and his actual sound isn't even close to Rockie's and isn't nearly as pop-sounding. Definitely gonna look out for more from this guy
Nothing's wrong with it at all, that's why I included the last part. I personally think metal sounds like garbage, but I'd never argue that it's a horrible genre because obviously it appeals to some people. What I can't stand is hiphop-heads who almost exclusively listening to hiphop pretending they like DG just to be edgy and contrarian.
How have I only just seen this for the first time.
Genuinely makes me embarrassed to be living in Southampton.
How can we produce something as GOAT as Craig David and then end up having to resort to this shit?
