Is this the best/only good Burzum album? What do you think? P.S. Yeah it's Burzday
>Is this the best/only good Burzum album?
Yeah, pretty much, some tracks from "Det som engang var" are OK I guess.
This is usually about the time people start dumping Varg reaction images.
>some tracks from "Det som engang var" are OK I guess.
No, that's Hvis lyset tar oss.
Filosofem is basically like HLTO, except the black metal parts are extremely watered down and poppy, and electronic parts are about 4 times longer then they should be. The only positive thing about it is that it's better than anything Varg shat out after it.
Personally i think this album and Hvis Lyset Tar Oss are almost equal, Tomhet is a much better ambient track in my opinions than Rudgang, also Aske and Diet Som Engang Var are worth a listen if your enjoy this Burzum era
No, not even close.
Burzum > Hvis Lyset Tar Oss > Det Som Engang Var > Filosofem > the rest
This album is pretty decent to play RPG and MMO's to, also check out his other prison album that he made after this one
Erblicket die Töchter des Firmaments is also a very good song from Filosofem.
Det som engang var (from Hvis Lyset Tar Oss), Key to the Gate and My journey to the stars are good too.
>I like Jesus Tod but it's a bit long.
it's not when it's 3:00am, sitting in the dark, kind of drunk trying to figure out what to listen to next
Varg should really do a score for an RPG game
I hate how all you people didn't even bother listening to his post-Filosfem albums. If you're a fan of Burzum, you're really missing out.
Belus and Fallen are pretty great, and The Ways of Yore is relaxing. From the Depths of Darkness is perfect if you want to hear some classics with better production/vocals
Tomhet is a better ambient track but the vocals on Hvis render it unlistenable to me, and I'm a guy who likes black metal (Darkthrone, Windir, Dissection, early Gorgoroth, Immortal, Sigrblot, Ad Hominem etc.)
Filosofem would work much better as an EP with just the three first tracks. It would definitely be one of the best BM releases that way.
I like it too, it's a great album.
Came here to post this. Better riffs than Filosofem, the vocals are definitely more emotional/intense, and doesn't have to rely on a more gimmicky production like the one Filosofem had.
