Finally recording my own songs and I have vocals and guitars covered. Since I'm in the middle of bumfuck nowhere there are no drummers around here, so for those of you that record music on your own, how do you record drums?

Do you use a drum machine, or is there software that lets you program drums? How do you guys do this? Thanks for any help!

bongos are pretty big right now, i'd buy a nice bongo. Travel bongos are pretty good too, i have a studio bongo and a travel bongo. Also try getting your hands on a tambourine so you have a little high end action

I have a shitty drum set I got in elementary school. I prefer the PandaBear set up, so my bass drum is locked up ssomewhere.
I put a diaphragm mic a few inches above the floor tom as a bass, and I raise the lows on that mic, then I get a condensor and and hang that above the cymbals and snare.

If you're doing it this way, there are a ton of factors that get really fucking annoying, the first being tuning the drums perfectly, the second being getting the mic placement just right.
>>
what software are you using? programming drums is doable, using either premade samples or shit u record
>>

Using no software yet, first time recording. Right now I'm using a very nice mic for guitars to avoid the artificial sound, after that I don't know where to go.

So u haven't started recording? Do u have mac or pc?
