What is the patrician's choice for best Tom Waits song?
Down There By The Train
>If you've lost all your hope, if you've lost all your faith
>I know you can be cared for and I know you can be safe
>And all of the shameful
>And all of the Whores
>And even the soldier who pierced the Heart of the Lord
>Is down there by the train
DID YOU BURY YOUR FIRE?!
DID YOU COVER YOUR TRACKS?!
DID YOU BRING YOUR KNIFE?!
DID THEY SEE YOUR FACE?!
DID THE MOM SEE YOU?!
DID YOU GO CROSS THE RIVER?!
DID YOU FIX YOUR RAKE?!
DID YOU STAY DOWN WIND?!
DID YOU HIDE YOUR GUN?!
DID YOU SMUGGLE YOUR RUM?!
HERE ARE THE ACTUAL BEST ONES SORRY I'M AN EXPERT SO YOU CAN TRUST ME
>Just Another Sucker on the Vine
>Good Man is Hard to Find
and then the saddest song of all time
>Fish & Bird
sorry it's actual fact
There's no one song that encapsulates all of his styles. It makes more sense to make a patrician's EP or LP, but at that point, we're just appreciating best of's, which is no good.
My advice is just to listen to everything in order.
>Christmas Card From A Hooker in Minneapolis
this is also the best version of it
>STRANGLE ALL THE CHRISTMAS CAROLS
>dirt in the ground
this one makes me feel some type of way
you might be right dude
you are completely off base tho
bukowski wrote nirvana
fish and bird is pretty tight
personally i'd have to say anywhere i lay my head is my favorite.
you guys are clearly not thinking obscure enough - has to be some b-side or other weird crap that's not even on Orphans
I nominate It's Alright With Me - the video was directed by Jim Jarmusch, so clearly a very patrician choice
>le dark jazzy atmospere
>le quirky reddit voice
>muh smoky speaksies
I go for months without listening to him but when I got back I remember exactly why I consider him the greatest.
I can't pick a favourite song, but if I had a gun to my head I'd probably say The Piano Has Been Drinking, purely because as a now recovered alcoholic I can laugh at this song knowing that I used to act like the narrator. It was everybody's fault but mine.
