Any type will do.
If you want recs then give recs god dammit
Bester Quartet - Metamorphoses
Raksha Mancham - Chös Khor
Hi dude. Haven't listened to the weather station yet but I'll post my best english folk rock
Spirogyra - St. Radiguns
Sandy Denny - The North Star Grassman
The trees community - The christ tree
Peter Bellamy - Oak, Ash and Thorn
Maybe you'd like Inti-illimani too. Chilean folk rock
Potemkine - Foetus
how's it doing
Laurent Thibault - On ne peut pas rêver tout le temps
Digging both of these, especially Raksha Mancham.
The Legendary Pink Dots - Nemesis Online
Corpo-Mente - Corpo-Mente
The Weather Station is pretty good. I've heard Sandy Denny and The Trees Community and enjoy both, so I'll be sure to check out the others. Try these if you want:
Günter Schickert - Samtvogel
Dzyan - Time Machine
Larkin Grimm - The Last Tree
Oren Ambarchi - Quixotism
Vidulgi ooyoo - Aero
Harm Done - Harm Done
hmm haven't heard anything here except for Älgarnas Trädgård, I think they were one of my grandfather's favourite bands
rec me something pls pls
oh my god Abbath why would you make yourself into even more of a meme
That Batushka album was incredible, do you know anything like it?
i haven't heard any of the albums you wierdos have posted so far but a few stabs in the dark has to be better than nothing, right?
jack johnson // brushfire fairytales
rammstein // sehnsucht
future // ds2
joanna newsom // ys
eww, thanks but no thanks
tell me about that Feldman record instead
don't you pick on that Abbath album, it's so fucking cheesy that it's actually good
>That Batushka album was incredible, do you know anything like it?
i wish i knew anything like it, but no :c
that's one of the few Legendary Pink Dots albums that i haven't heard yet
i'll check it out
>how's it doing
how's what doing
haha yeah I know, I've always loved Immortal because they were one of the few trve BM bands who appeared to be self-aware
I'm thinking about going to the Abbath/Behemoth/Entombed/Inquisition show next week but I'm not sure
Inquisition and Behemoth are great live so I should probably go who knows
Vidulgi ooyoo is really nice, thanks. Props on Macha, they're great.
Disappears - Pre Language
Irving Klaw Trio - Utek Pahtoo Mogoi
Really, nothing? That's ok haha. Cat Power is great, try Elysian Fields - The Afterlife.
Too much effort tbqh
You can still read the titles anyway
will gibe recs for new music
anything that sounds like GYBE/SFTF/ASMZ without being complete shit like Mono/EITS/GIAA/crescendocore in general would be nice.
Crescendocore isn't shit desu, it's formulaic but it can be good if the band knows what they're doing
I like MONO, Mogwai, EITS, Yndi Halda among others
For what you're looking for though:
Esmerine - Lost Voices
Macha - See It Another Way
Dead To A Dying World - Litany
Cerberus Shoal - Homb
Oiseaux Tempete - S/T
MONO and World's End Girlfriend - Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain
hope you like them bb
yeah Macha are great! Didn't have high expectations but they pull their weird mix of genres off really well!
Thanks for the recs dude
Really enjoyed lowlife, any similar post-punk recs? cant really into bauhaus or nick cave t b h family
+Slowdive, King Crimson, Floyd
Listening to that ELO album as we speak
recs: lilys - in the presence of nothing, onehotrix point never - replica, yes - close to the edge
+king crimson, godspeed
im on the fence about garden of delete, i need to listen to it more would you rec set fire to flames to a pleb like me?
recs: alcest - Écailles de Lune, heretoir - s/t, the angelic process - weighing souls with sand
Garden of Delet was really meh for me, it had its moments but it also had so many directionless parts that were completely pointless.
SFTF are... um... interesting. Think if Godspeed turned the field recording meter up to 11 and turned cresendoes down to 0. And no ambient noodling. It depends on if you're willing to stand 70 minutes of recordings of people walking around houses looking for and picking up various objects, insects near microphones, various people talking about things, etc. interspaced with chamber music sections.
I already love Ecailles man. Didn't really like Weighing Souls, it was way too sugary and sweet for me. I'll check out Heretoir, thanks my man.
++Tortoise, Talk Talk
+Yo La Tengo, Posse, Lowlife, Tim Hecker, New Order
Meh on the rest
The Wild Swans - Bringing Home the Ashes
Disappears - Pre Language
Aerial M - As Performed By
Mark Hollis - Mark Hollis
Varsity - Thanks For Nothing
>i specifically mention that I hate MONO
>you proceed to rec me a fucking MONO album
>"ignoring the list of music I think you'd like because I enjoy unrelated artists is a completely rational decision have fun"
You're a stupid one aren't you?
have you even listened to that album
it doesn't sound like their other shit, it's a 70 minute piece consisting of mostly string arrangements by World's End Girlfriend, think F#A# but even less rock
The other albums on my list are all either chamber music influenced post-rock like ASMZ, droney, spacious stuff like SFTF and Dead To A Dying World is like a mix between ASMZ and black metal
No need to be so hostile but alright
Not that trip and I personally dislike crescendocore. The Macha and Cerberus Shoal albums they recommended are very good, try those. Also check out Fly Pan Am, and perhaps Brise-Glace if you like it noisy
Sorry I'm just honestly not a fan. Brit pop does nothing for me.
I've listened to some great new music this month, always looking for more recs
don't know any of this stuff, any thing you'd recommend?
Recently listened to The Black Album by La Monte Young, that's worth checking out
++batushka, current 93
How's the Abbath record?
again, don't know any of this, anything you'd recommend?
++magma, gnaw their tongues
+AT, Ghost, Slowdive, King Crimson, Anathema, Porcupine Tree
How's the new Steven Wilson album? I thought Hand. Cannot. Erase was alright, is this a worthy successor?
Assuming you haven't already listened, try out The Body or From All Purity by Indian
+++all the bowie
++darkthrone, OPN, splint, godspeed, coltrane
+radiohead, king crimson
try out Titles by Mick Karn
++tim hecker, OPN, flylo, talk talk
have you listened to Mark Hollis' solo album? That's pretty excellent
I never claimed I was superior, also at least GY!BE are original and at least did something of note in music.
>hurr durr generic crescendocore
Name one other band that sounded remotely similar to GY!BE in 1997.
>hurr durr boring background music
Any music is background music if you're not paying attention
Strangely enough I already have albums from all three groups downloaded, just haven't listened to them yet.
>f#a# but even less rock
I will admit, that sounds fairly interesting considering F#A# is my favorite GY!BE record.
This better not be a fucking meme but alright, I'll give your recs a shot and get rid of the filter.
thanks my man, you have great taste too. try Leviathan - Scar Sighted, with the amount of DSBM you have in there you'd like it. Oh yeah and Krohm - A World Through Dead Eyes. Very similar to Xasthur but more toned down.
Sombres Forêts - La Mort du Soleil
Cold Body Radiation - Deer Twilight
Les Discrets - Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées
Bowery Electric - Beat
Miserere Luminis - s/t
Oh I see, you're an art music fag. So it seems that pretentiousness and GY!BE dislike come hand in hand.
Name one other rock group in 1997 that were remotely similar to GY!BE.
And I forgot, you never even gave a proper criticism of them, you just pulled a lol shit taste xd" and left it at that.
Give Alcest's debut a go if you haven't already. What did you think of the more heavy tracks on Eccailes de Lune? If you liked them do yourself a favor and listen to Clouds Collide - All Things Shining.
Will check out La Monte Young thank you.
Idk if you'll like anything in my collage, maybe try Sun City Girls - Grotto of Miracles. Outside of that you'd probably dig Hood - Cabled Linear Traction.
Love, Claire - Love, Claire
Helvetia - The Acrobats
Starflyer 59 - Gold
People like different things, get over yourselves.
What? That's the worst strawman I've ever seen.
Where did I even criticize you for using buzzwords? Where did I make pointless remarks that prove how stupidly insecure I am? Hint: I never did.
you listen to mercury rev at all? try boces if you haven't.
stereolab - transient random-noise....
So many collages with barely any familiar albums, so that's the only rec I've got.
gotta be a grill
++giles corey, deerhunter, lantlos, black wing, anco, savages, bitch boys
+deafheaven, kanye, panic
What did you think of Panic!'s new album? I think he's trying to reinvent the classic sound but not doing that good of a job at it. Death of a Batchelor is probably the only redeemable track, I'd say
Great taste in noise pop, yes I like both of them.
Try these if you haven't:
Super Furry Animals - Fuzzy Logic
Imandra Lake - Seesamseesam
Electro Group - Good Technology
Mikal cronin - MCII
Tenement - Napalm Dream
It was too safe and Urie's singing is getting kind of stale.
They need some sort of reinvention if they're going to keep my attention.
But let's be honest: Panic! was never great, they were decent. They're lucky to have kept their popularity as long as they have.
True, Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy both sound exactly the same at the moment, which is indicative of them both playing it safe for radio hits and cash, even though producing something like their earlier stuff would probably get more attention
>muh art music is superior
you thinking art music is good is depressing
why so much black metal reccing today
listen to any alcest record, since you like deafheaven try ecailles, it's their most metal record.
alright boys i'm going to bed. it's been fun, have a good day to all you guys on the other side of the planet.
if you have a dick, you're not really a girl, j'sayin.
if you're an ACTUAL girl, wanna fug?
+Sabbath, Om, Sleep
no, i don't smoke weed
+Ulver, SKM, Burzum
+Aphex, Autechre, Madvil, DG, RTJ, Burial, Murf, FlyLo, BOC
+GC, Lantlos, Deerhunter, Jamie xx, BBs, MPP, Bowie, Vessels, National, Deafheaven, MBDTF
is Low Cut Connie any good? pretty good taste from the stuff i have heard
you've got like 5 albums on here that ive been meaning to check out for the longest time tho
I want to look cool for my internet friends
this is my real collage
I don't even visit pitchfork.
If something sounds fun to me i'll just listen to it.
I just find it weird that there's barely anything popular here...except the bowie meme and few other stuff here and there.
Taste is subjective, you should know that.
++fly lo, xxyyxx, james blake, opn
++Pinkshinyultrablast, candyclaws, ulrich schnauss, opn
wow, I need a life. I can fill a 7x7 this week
I've never listened to OPN but I've been getting into weird electronic music recently. is there a particularly good album for me to start with from him?
+current 93, rome, ulver
have you heard kiss the anus of a black cat?>>61887438
+killing joke, enemite
have you heard zero kama, crash worship, or cut hands?
+the om album i'm currently listening to, sleep, pink floyd, black sabbath

+the angelic process, xasthur
check out om - advaitic songs
+charles bronson, full of hell & merzbow
+rome, coil, gnaw their tongues
+C93, ain soph
+a place to bury strangers, windy and carl
The Garden of Mysteries, Keiichi Ohta and warraw are things you might like if you're into rock.
Lucidity and dubai are very solid jazz albums. Grazing dreams is jazz with indian influences.
Virginia Astley is something ambient that I really liked. I would recommend this above all if you haven't heard it.
Lovesliescrushing - Bloweyelashwish
bugskull - phantasies and seseitions
Sun City Girls - Grotto of Miracles
Macha - Macha
The Fire Show - Saint The Fire Show
I see you got around to Schickert
What did you think?
