Hi dude. Haven't listened to the weather station yet but I'll post my best english folk rock
Spirogyra - St. Radiguns
Sandy Denny - The North Star Grassman
The trees community - The christ tree
Peter Bellamy - Oak, Ash and Thorn

Maybe you'd like Inti-illimani too. Chilean folk rock
>>
>>61885026
Potemkine - Foetus

>>61884907

>>61884396
Laurent Thibault - On ne peut pas rêver tout le temps
>>
>>61884907
Digging both of these, especially Raksha Mancham.

Try:
The Legendary Pink Dots - Nemesis Online
Corpo-Mente - Corpo-Mente
>>61885026
The Weather Station is pretty good. I've heard Sandy Denny and The Trees Community and enjoy both, so I'll be sure to check out the others. Try these if you want:

Günter Schickert - Samtvogel
Dzyan - Time Machine
Larkin Grimm - The Last Tree
>>61885064
Oren Ambarchi - Quixotism

will gibe recs for new music
anything that sounds like GYBE/SFTF/ASMZ without being complete shit like Mono/EITS/GIAA/crescendocore in general would be nice.
>>
>>61885723
Crescendocore isn't shit desu, it's formulaic but it can be good if the band knows what they're doing
I like MONO, Mogwai, EITS, Yndi Halda among others
For what you're looking for though:
Esmerine - Lost Voices
Macha - See It Another Way
Dead To A Dying World - Litany
Cerberus Shoal - Homb
Oiseaux Tempete - S/T
MONO and World's End Girlfriend - Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain

hope you like them bb

>>61885704
yeah Macha are great! Didn't have high expectations but they pull their weird mix of genres off really well!

Thanks for the recs dude

recs: lilys - in the presence of nothing, onehotrix point never - replica, yes - close to the edge

>>61885723
+king crimson, godspeed
im on the fence about garden of delete, i need to listen to it more would you rec set fire to flames to a pleb like me?
recs: alcest - Écailles de Lune, heretoir - s/t, the angelic process - weighing souls with sand
>>
>>61885928
Garden of Delet was really meh for me, it had its moments but it also had so many directionless parts that were completely pointless.
SFTF are... um... interesting. Think if Godspeed turned the field recording meter up to 11 and turned cresendoes down to 0. And no ambient noodling. It depends on if you're willing to stand 70 minutes of recordings of people walking around houses looking for and picking up various objects, insects near microphones, various people talking about things, etc. interspaced with chamber music sections.
I already love Ecailles man. Didn't really like Weighing Souls, it was way too sugary and sweet for me. I'll check out Heretoir, thanks my man.
>>
>>61885928
++Tortoise, Talk Talk
+Yo La Tengo, Posse, Lowlife, Tim Hecker, New Order

>>
>>61886093
at least he doens't feel superior for listening to pleb trash like GYBE
>>
>>61886093
have you even listened to that album
it doesn't sound like their other shit, it's a 70 minute piece consisting of mostly string arrangements by World's End Girlfriend, think F#A# but even less rock
The other albums on my list are all either chamber music influenced post-rock like ASMZ, droney, spacious stuff like SFTF and Dead To A Dying World is like a mix between ASMZ and black metal

No need to be so hostile but alright
>>
>>61886093
Not that trip and I personally dislike crescendocore. The Macha and Cerberus Shoal albums they recommended are very good, try those. Also check out Fly Pan Am, and perhaps Brise-Glace if you like it noisy

I never claimed I was superior, also at least GY!BE are original and at least did something of note in music.
>inb4
>hurr durr generic crescendocore
Name one other band that sounded remotely similar to GY!BE in 1997.
>hurr durr boring background music
Any music is background music if you're not paying attention
>>61886153
Strangely enough I already have albums from all three groups downloaded, just haven't listened to them yet.
>>61886132
>f#a# but even less rock
I will admit, that sounds fairly interesting considering F#A# is my favorite GY!BE record.
This better not be a fucking meme but alright, I'll give your recs a shot and get rid of the filter.
>>61886223
thanks my man, you have great taste too. try Leviathan - Scar Sighted, with the amount of DSBM you have in there you'd like it. Oh yeah and Krohm - A World Through Dead Eyes. Very similar to Xasthur but more toned down.
>>
>>61886324
>Name one other band that sounded remotely similar to GY!BE in 1997.

Schnittke had already pretty much explored anything GYBE ended up doing decades before. Your point?

What did you think of Panic!'s new album? I think he's trying to reinvent the classic sound but not doing that good of a job at it. Death of a Batchelor is probably the only redeemable track, I'd say
>>

It was too safe and Urie's singing is getting kind of stale.
They need some sort of reinvention if they're going to keep my attention.
But let's be honest: Panic! was never great, they were decent. They're lucky to have kept their popularity as long as they have.
