It's at least an 8/10, it even received universal acclaim and Clocks and The Scientist are modern day classics. Fuck Pitchfork.
>It's at least an 8/10
its a very good 6.5
>Clocks and The Scientist are modern day classics
this is coming from somebody that likes coldplay too but they were pretty right on the score but not the context of the score because its fucking pitchfork and their scores mean nothing
seen a lot of Coldplay apologists as of late. now that normies are even getting sick of them is it like post-contrarianism. Is this an ironic meme?
They have a few okay songs I guess but their little more than a proficient pop rock outfit.
I saw some guy say they did shoegaze better than mbv's mbv earlier today unironically.
What are you talking about? This is a fantastic album. The production, song writing, overall emotion and even the cover art are all amazing. I don't get the hate. It's their best easily. Only hipster faggots disagree. Also, I would agree with that anon. It's easily better than that overrated album. Shoegaze is for emo teens. Coldplay has much better song writing.
Come on, it's definitely above that score. It's nearly flawless in my mind.
Nah, it's definitely much better than you're giving it credit.
>Shoegaze is for emo teens
I don't read pitchfork, but them not agreeing with you on an album is not a basis for calling them retarded, that's just you being a self-centred pleb who can't take other people's opinions.
I have never seen Pitchfork be as wrong as this one. It's easily one of the best albums of its year.
This is the one that pissed me off mostly in recent years.
it got panned by near enough everyone and I've not heard one solid argument for why it's not one of the best albums of 2014.
>good pop/rock songwriting
>interesting instrumentation (especially the lo-fi electronic experimentation)
>modern synth-punk/neo psych
yeah it has it's weak moments but it's generally a good LP
I think the guy just probably 7uses a .5 scale. Not every album that's a 6/10 is exactly equal for me, there are definitely albums I like more than others in that group. So it's likely just his favorite album in the 6.5 range that isn't quite a 7
wow, nexy your gonna tell me The Killers should be talked about more often, go listen to decent 2000- music like the Books, Deerhoof, Yo La Tengo, Flips, Sigur Ros, Monade, Low, Zammuto and Fiery Furnaces. Normie.
It got panned because it has Julian Casablancas but it's not a Strokes album, sadly.
Honestly, I think it's better than 95% of the stuff The Strokes ever made, easily 9/10 album.
Pitchfork usually rates everything really high so they wanted to throw something under the bus.
I guarantee that if Coldplay never got famous or made any money all you hipster faggots would love it and it would be /mu/core
