The mainstream loves him because he blends pop/r&b/Hip-hop in a really digestible package. Also because he's a sex symbol and he's subject to a lot of memes.

My friends think some of his verses are "fire" and "emotional" for a rapper. Don't particularly agree with them.

It's really really approachable. It does well to stay unique while not sounding painfully generic.

Take Care gets a lot of praise because it's relatable to the average person. Pretty much everyone, whether they're a pleb or a patrician, can whack on Take Care when they're sad over a breakup or some shit and feel the feels with Drake.

I don't really get the hype with the "hard" Drake that we've been getting recently. Slower/emotional Drake is best Drake. It's the only Drake worth listening to desu.

Music aside for a moment, people really like how he represents for Toronto. Not only does he talk about it in his songs, but he does a lot for his city.

Not a huge Drake fan myself, but can definitely see why people respect him for that and how that fuels his popularity.
