been using musicbee for five years now, no problems, does everything i want it to. Foobar is good as well but you have to spend some time customizing it. Musicbee is more userfriendly but also allows customisation if you want

i've been using foobar for a few years now and it has never given me a single issue. i'd use musicbee because it looks like itunes but it has too many buttons and configurations so i prefer foobar.

Out of those two I prefer MusicBee.

Haven't ever used Musicbee, but I've been using Foobar for a couple years now, and I honestly have no complaints. It's a wonderful player, I enjoy it thoroughly

Most dark skins are all the same, with very small differences, so who cares. Also most skins available come prepacked with the install, iirc, but you can look for more in the wiki. Most of them are doubles though.

As for the layout, you can customize it from the button next to the search box. I prefer the artwork view myself, since it's more compact, but the one from your pic is there too.

Use album and tracks view, show both left and right sidebars, mess with the sidebar's settings until it's right. then you gotta find a dark skin that's similar to that one (most dark skins are pretty much the same).

There's like 100 similar dark skins. You'll find plenty you like. I'm also 80% sure the one I have came preinstalled with the whole set.

Make sure to tinker with all the buttons and menus on the main page until you get what you want. Then move on to specific settings from 'Preferences' in the Edit menu. And in case you're wondering, it's way easier than in foobar, maybe unless you download a portable pre-themed version, but most of them are pretty lame compared to MusicBee anyway.

I liked Musicbee but it had one fatal flaw: the pictures of musicians when using the "artist" column like in this >>61865763
I'm sorry, but no, half of the musicians I listen to are ugly as fuck. I don't want to see them. So I reversed back to itunes, that uses just random album art.

Foobars design looks like absolute shit i mean it's 2016 why the fuck is the layout so boring? Sound is ok in Foobar but so is Musicbees so I guess it's a tie between the two.

TLDR: Foobar gets 2 bags of popcorn and a little mp3 symbol for it's good audio.

Mediamonkey on the other hand deserves the 8 bags of popcorn and with that spot number one on my music player rating essay.
