I don't think I'd take it that far. But I do agree that he's nowhere near as talented as Bowie and this whole discussion is ridiculous. HOWEVER, from a cultural standpoint, he does follow a similar path to bowie, both being noted by a sizeable group of people for their forward thinking fashion sense, and both utilizing their intuition to not invent but follow cultural trends and establish a tableau of their interpretation of what is relevant, thereby unifying people to follow that sound. Idk, I don't want to write an entire essay, though it might actually be kinda fun. Still, people miss the point. Bowie was so much more because 1. he wasn't as crass in most of his career 2. his talent was immense compared to most people even to this day, and he was arguably one of the greatest performers who ever lived. Kanye's shows are cool, and sometimes definitely groundbreaking, but he himself is kind of boring to watch compared to the rest of the spectacle
