Blackstar debuts at #1 in the billboard 100. Welcome to not being a nation of plebs america. Bowie is dominating all charts worldwide. Well done Bowie RIP. ;w;
Fuck, I really wanted this album to not hit mainstream, especially since it's way less poppy than the stuff most people know, but now I really need to take some time off to think about the fact that there's people out there who has the same complex music taste as me but don't browse this board daily nor have ever done it
I wonder if this will help shake off the stigma that older artists in their 60s and 70s are "washed up" and dismissable. Maybe now people will start expecting higher quality from the "elder statesmen" still putting out work.
there's a video for lazarus so I guess that's the other single
>"I wanted it to be underground so I can be a special snowflake"
just end your life dude
this, fed up of all these little shits my sister's age all "hahaha who even is paul mccartney? he's from before I was born? must be shit because he's old and white!"
definition of a hipster, just awful
they don't even have older people in movies anymore cause everyone under 30 fucking hates them. like in the new star wars the empire is a bunch of 2nd-rate nazi faggots instead of badass evil geniuses like tarkin
Wow this was really his first #1?
Can't be an international hit for nothing!
>it took over 50 years of putting out music for Bowie to reach #1 in the USA
Fuck this gay earth.
Bowie's always done that. Ziggy fans would have bought Aladdin Sane because it literally has a picture of Ziggy on the front, and thought WTF when they heard Aladdin Sane the song. Then he fed them Diamond Dogs, then Young Americans picked up a new crowd who he fed Low.
Don't forget he stuck a showtunes album in between TMWSTW and Ziggy. Regardless, the plebs learn to love what Bowie force-fed them.
Is Bowie dying the ultimate snub to the american plebs and their shitty billboard chart? Like the album launched and shot straight to the top of digital charts which was good enough for him and he was all like "fuck billboard whatever man" and died. That's how much he gave zero fucks about the billboard plebchart.
I'm just glad that he lived to see this final project land the way he intended it. While we were enjoying this album, he was living his final days and I hope that the fan feedback gave him ease in his final moments. :'3 <3
