It's a little rare to find an album that sounds how it's cover looks.
Leviathan is pretty cool too.
u know it makes u laugh every time
I really like all the Bowie album covers that have already been posted in this thread but pic related has got to be my favorite. It might be because it was the first Bowie album that I had listened to all the way through (and I instantly fell in love with it)
i always thought HCTI was a goat cover. campfire songs isn't good but it's not bad. all the rest are just plain bad, except Spirit and Centipede which are fucking disgusting.
Another (demo) One is better
I like the cover for Trans Canada Highway
His is either pic realted or Hvis
Theirs is Animals imo
Sonic Youth - Washing Machine
Sonic Youth commissioned graphic designer Mike Mills (who later directed the movies Thumbsucker and Beginners) to design the cover on the recommendation of Sofia Coppola.
Beck likes the covers so much, he killed the artist who designed them for him.
Beck liked the video so much, the director of the video died from a mysterious infection shortly after completing it.
King Crimson's In the Wake of Poseidon.
Design-wise, it's a bit of a clusterfuck, but I love it for the beauty of the art. Otherwise, I would have picked Discipline.
Beat, Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Islands and ITCOCK are also great covers.
Fuck, forgot the image
Any time somebody implies they like Built to Spill and post this piece of shit I can't help but laugh.
I love this one.
Casting one vote for Heroes, although bowie has lots of great album art.
This album cover was inspired by the art for Haruomi Hosono - Hosono House according to his video for Amoeba (What's In My Bag), if you were curious.
NLDW (NSFW version) come on dude
Bitches Brew or Miles Smiles for me.
Agreed, love these.
fuckin' Scientologists man.
This is their best
yeah but c'mon there's Duty Now For The Future
Pretty much all their covers expect "Endless River" and "More" are GOAT
Not sure if this one or Script of the Bridge is better
no. Americana. also has some of the best illustrations ever in booklet.
Purely because of how iconic it is.
this imo, but best Andy Stott cover art is a tall order
Good cover, but Filosfem has always been my favorite.
Agreed. The back side freaked me out as a kid, where it had the pool of blood and the kids shoes
When it comes to DG, I respect everyone's personal choice but for me it's definitely ExMil. Just the fact that one of the band members kept it in his wallet and they just used it with the wear an tear is unique. The cover simply goes with the atmosphere that the whole album creates, not to mention that no one has ever found the original of the photo itself. I just simply love it.
Not the hugest Miles Davis fan but I absolutely LOVE the Bitches Brew artwork.
I prefer ...Like Clockwork, but Era Vulgaris is severely underrated, both its artwork and the music on it.
Like, a lot of albums have that one weird song that kinda sticks out and that you skip every time, but then you do listen to it one day and it kinda sticks with you, and you notice that it's actually the best fucking song on the album.
Era Vulgaris is an entire album full of songs like that. Take any song from that and put it on a different album and it would be the song you keep skipping but will end up being your favorite song on it.
>not the OG original viking Dauði Baldrs
That's one of my fav albums. And my favorite album cover idk why.
Check'd, damn. Also Islands is my favorite from them.
that's terrible wtf
shame it was just wasted on a singles cover that no one would ever see
I don't get it, is it because of how simple it is?
I always loved MBDTF covers.
I'm just too normie to get this?
>best Iggy Pop album cover
>not Preliminaires, Zombie Birdhouse, or Party
not the best album but really good art
either Everything Must Go or The Holy Bible
