Post the most beautiful album ever made in your opinion.
when u just begin to understand its meticulous format, you'll shed a tear from its refined beauty
probably my favorite ambient album but still, pic related
>not Radio Amor
>not Harmony In Ultraviolet
this or TVU&N
Either this, hospice or avalon vales, but this time i'll go with this.
>can't appreciate post-rock
there are few genres so dedicated to artful beauty
of course a plenty fail and become formulaic
but the good shit is unmatched
I am the only person on /mu/ who has heard this probably
It's underappreciated, definitely, but i think Ravedeath has a lot more going on in the compositional spectrum. Mirages, even though it's one of my favorite albums, feels a little more one-dimensional. I think it's just something personal. I'm still amazed how such an obscure music style can feel relatable and be so beautiful.
Sunset Corp blows everything he's made under OPN out of the water
This one is better in every way
listen to more music. until you do, don't participate in threads that require you to have a knowledge of music beyond /mu/core and sub/mu/core
thats like only eating rice for your entire life then posting rice in a "what's the best food of all time" thread
haven't commented but majority of these albums a lot of people were listening to before /mu/ core it's fucking impossible to talk about anything i once loved without assholes like you shitting up the place. You probably look like how i imagine: malnourished ,pale with a wicked sense of humor.
you seriously cant think of a single non-/mu/core album that is beautiful?
im just trying to improve discussion. if we are going to have the same threads over and over again then we might as well post different albums for once. nothing pretentious about not wanting to be told the same thing over and over again. i do enjoy some eai but i don't understand how that makes me a contrarian.
what's wrong with EAI asswipe
i'll be your friend if you listen to pic related cuz it's the most beautiful album i've heard
albums can be beautiful in a bunch of different ways so it's hard to definitively pick one
They are amazing albums. Doesn't mean they "transcend" /mu/core. They are /mu/core. Theres nothing negative about the /mu/core moniker. It's just they get posted multiple times every day
Ok we can take valerian root before we listen to it too
Because i've seen and listened to these albums already and so has the majority of /mu/. Stop being so predictable is my complaint
Rice is amazing. But there's other food out there. Stuff that the majority of the population has eaten and/or heard of. And that stuff is just as good as rice.
all World's End Girlfriend albums are beautiful
probably some of the best music ever made in my opinion
oh i haven't been here in a while and last i recall Laughing Stock and TMR weren't discussed at all, or if they were it was in 'i don't understand' terms. good to know they've been adopted into the canon in some ways, if more people are appreciating their beauty that's gotta be a good thing
I guess i know what you mean -- some of my other contenders would automatically be derided -- but if my most beautiful album happens to fall into /mu/core who cares? it doesn't mean i haven't heard other beautiful albums from outside the canon. you're setting up a false dichotomy
hmmm, from what I've heard, perhaps pic related
pic related also beautiful
:/... i prbly will never understand your sense of beauty
This is my pick. It's surprisingly dark, too- there are long extensions of the music Joanna doesn't portray anything but hopeless suffering
opening track is absolutely beautiful and devastating. You can almost hear the piano mouth "My-fool-lish heaaaarrttt" at times. It's also the finest trio interplay I can think of. It sounds like it's about to rupture throughout the whole track, but there's not one false step.
Obvious choice is obvious but it doesn't get more beautiful than this for me. In every way imaginable. The sheer harmonic ambition, the way it sounds, the subject matter, everything about it has beauty (except Mike Love.)
This album was amazing first time around
now i dont really like it
besieds april #2 was always better
This is honestly the truth. Grim Reaper is very close.
No, I'm not baiting.
yeah, cosmia was on my mind when I posted this. Things like "I couldn't keep the night from coming in" and "I'll sleep through the rest of my days" suggests she was going through some legit depression
I'm literally unable to breathe when the piano first comes in on Spectral Bride.
These are all way too fucking correct
all tracks are good imo
probably isn't, but the only thing I can think of atm
whatever kind of mood i'm in, this album always entrances me. op's album is one of my favs too.
Either this or Selected Ambient Works 85-92
If you count live albums, their final one is even better.
well it should come to no surprise that there are a select number of albums that have left a permanent imprint on /mu/ over the years, albums that appeal (and will continue to appeal) to 15-25 y.o. males stuck in various stages of general malaise, or even depression. at the end of the day "/mu/core" is a lifestyle choice like any other, packaged and sold. a series of interconnecting threads, leading nowhere
this is true and well written but I'd say that a significant amount of /mu/core is just straight up quality music... people around here love to hate on whatever but /mu/'s taste is actually not bad
