They sum up a lot of stuff honestly so you don't need to play 13 first. That said, I enjoyed 13 when I played it back on 360 but avoided the endgame as it was quite the dreadful grind. If you really can't deal with the linearity then it's probably better to avoid, but I still had a lot of fun just following the rails and the crazy story.

The guitar tone is hard hitting as hell, it's full with adrenaline and energy, the riffs and the drumming are incredibly satisfying and fulfilling

They are still great. I've seen them a couple times, the first time they were just touring for touring's sake and they played an amazing setlist of mostly their first 3 albums and some from HCDR.
Then I saw them again when they were supporting Blooddrunk's release, and that was a pretty meh set list because that album is terrible. Still played a couple good older songs though.

If they area touring in support of I Worship Chaos, that is a decent album. And if they play some Halo of Blood songs that would be really great to see, that album fucking slays
