I return feedback on sc
Love the vinyl crackle and hissy percussion in Can't Sleep Standing
Fantastic guitar tone, sounds very surfy. I think the vocals could be louder in the mix, have more confidence in your voice! Really unique percussion as well, I like it.
give it a listen if you havnt already.
thx for the support
Gonna leave feedback in a minute
Here's some old soundclouds of mine. First one is instrumental hip hops and the other one is an old chiptune project from way back in 2012
I follow back or whatever
the trees from the window is fantastic, love the worldbeat feel and the reverb is just perfect
I like Vection, the guitar lead sounds sweet, almost folky at times, really jazzy, good balance on the ride in the mix
haha oops, I thought it was your track reposted by someone else. The live jam reminds me of Le Knight Club and Crydajam, sorta french sounding, cool vibe. I like the crackles in tiny metallic figures, for some reason the song spooks me, nice panning

OATH OF KINGS!!!
Hey guys! Check out our YT as well. Feel free to give us a like.
We have worked our way to the top,
And we have never,
Felt so alive,
This just gets better,
Time we make a stand,
Time we do things different,
In the end we'll show them all,
We'll show them all.
Let your voices be heard,
So the world can notice,
These mountains we've climbed,
Just to reach the surface.
Who would have thought it?
We could do this on our own,
Time is precious,
So we'll make this last,
We are the future,
Together we'll fight for this,
You think it's over?
You think you've won?
The games have just begun.
Let your voices be heard,
So the world can notice,
These mountains we've climbed,
Just to reach the surface.
You need to let this go,
You need to let this go,
I need to let this go,
I need to let this go.

the trap thing has been overdone in the recent years but this is a fun track, kinda 3 pac-ish, good production, you got some potential

>record label / art collective
Would love some feedback on this. Feelin' kinda uninspired lately. We're still working on the bridge and adding guitar.
This is nicely produced, but try varying that initial bell pattern; it's too short to maintain interest IMO
A lot of your instrumentals feel drowned in reverb and don't really hold my interest for all that long. I like your ideas with sampling but feel they could be smoother
You have nice production and some great ideas going, but your drums feel lacking in several respects and none of the songs really draw me in all that much
Left you feedback before
i dig it. rec
heres my newest song
im not sure how i feel about the mix..
anyways, give it a listen.
Keep workin' man. It gets a little boring without a melody and the slow development, but I really like your sound. Over time, you'll make some dank stuff. :)
Very interesting. Field recordings, I assume? Too repetitive for me, but cool sound.
Sounds like Dracula.
Is this a recording of a recording...?

I'm making a track a week for all of 2016! Here's what I've done so far, 2 tracks, 2 weeks.

new track again
https://soundcloud.com/ambush303/wheelbite-titanium-flesh new beat i made peep it.
Also heres my own shit i did on garageband on an iPad. What can i improve?
Electronic, beats, stuf
First suggestion is dont use Garage Band.
At very least get Abelton Live Lite.
The bass drums dominated the track to the point i couldnt hear the other instruments enough to gauge if i like them or not.
sup yall. I try to make hiphop for the soul. smoke a little to it or do some homework to it. I love all you guys and especially anyone who takes time to listen. thank yall.
Here's my new Alternative R&B track called "Worth It". It has some Toronto vibes, over "trappier" production than what I've previously done. I appreciate you guys taking the time to listen!
This has gotten a pretty good response, hopefully some of you like it too.
I return all feedback!

Ahh, well thats good! Could be the subpar sound output on the ipad that's making the mix weird on your end vs. mine.
Like the first track. Going to add you.

Why do you even post in these threads? You never critique anything else posted here beyond "yo that was tight dawg". Why are you so hungry for attention?

This. He is everything wrong with these threads.
So on top of being a piss-dull Trap wannabe, you're a fucking idiots who parses any negativity aimed towards them as "jealousy" too. No wonder you're so self-obsessed, you must be surrounded by enablers.
Aight real talk: you sound like you have a chronic fucking cold with how nasal your voice is, like it actually sounds like you don't have a fucking nose. Your vox are way too loud for being that garbage, you have nothing important to say whatsoever: you're boring. Your sense of rhythm is what I'd expect from someone with brain damage, and your tonality is Helen Keller-tier. Fucking work on this shit more.
> instrumental hiphop
> wavey trap beats
dropped a new ep!
would love to get some feedback.
i dont really see how my voice is nasaly, thats just how i sound, cant fix that, wth is a vox????
man how do i have nothing to say, im talking bout my girl, ive been working on my rythm some people told me bout it but i got u loko
Put in more work, you can't just do like 2-3 takes per verse and then say "damn, I got that shit on LOCK," think more. Use mixing to your advantage, stretch your vocal tracks to make them sound tight. Nothing worse than hip-hop that doesn't sound tight.
New remix I just finished, Would love some feedback.

Quantize, solid idea but production could be cleaner.

well im fucking late.
>trap >multigenre >jungle
Melody works with the song, production isn't the issue here except in the vocal department. It sounds disjointed and split up. Your flow is passable at certain points but completely fucks up most of the song, I suggest a metronome as you lose your flow 31 seconds into the song which is after maybe 6 seconds of bars. (I'm a drummer, but it doesn't take internal time to see you're off beat) You also need vocal lessons if you're going to sing your own hooks, you sing like Jeff Mangum does, all up in your head, but your voice doesn't work with that style. Breath into your diaphragm then try to sing. The hook is cringey.

cool riffs, pleasant sound.
certain parts sound slightly out of time, or just a little off. this is not meant as an insult, but you might want to listen closely and re-record any sections that stand out to you. little fumbles and stuff.
also some drums and stuff would be nice when it gets all fuzzed out.
keep it up man, good building blocks
weird, looks like my previous comment was deleted.
basically just said the overall sounds were cool, certain parts might have fell out of time and deserve to be re-recorded in. also yearns for drums with the fuzzed out ending.
>Hip Hop Instrumental
Let me know what you think. Will return all feedback on Soundcloud.
eh... nevermind. hah
I dig children fall from high places - lots of cool breaks and timing changes. what did you use to make it? very interesting instrumentation.

>CAN'T THINK OF AN EDITION EDITION
>experimental + various genres, including:
really nice, ambient sample. I can't make specific mixing comments as I'm listening through my laptop speakers but I can't hear any kick at all and certain cymbal hits seem a little too sharp. I feel like you could benefit a lot from using some vinyl-ripped drums instead of Lex Luger samples which are overused (and not great to begin with). All around, I like what you're doing and a bit more development could lead to some real cool shit.
"this is auditory rape" - anon
thanks. yeah I'm aware of that, it's just a rough demo really. I should specify it's more about the "music" than the production as I'm not too interested in actually recording it myself, say more like something I can bring to a band.
I wish I knew how to program drums though :/
totally cool that it's a rough demo and all, but there's nothing wrong with taking a couple of days to get the perfect takes.
programming drums seems a lot harder than it actually is. what program do you use for production? maybe i can give you some direction into learning.
Reaper. I "downloaded" ezy drummer and superior drummer a while ago but I couldn't really get anything worth while (even though I should have stuck with it learnt) so I gave up and deleted them. I think I got better results with superior drummer.
also here's my soundcloud. i have heaps more shit like that. https://soundcloud.com/jguitar-r94
plus heaps more i haven't uploaded. i have too many (good - at least i think) riffs & ideas than I know what to do with
currently bumping DJ Screw for inspiration
I actually have a fair bit of experience with ableton. I used to make some house/techno stuff, but that's a few years ago now. need to download it again though.
what drum sounds should I use? I remember it didn't have very good acoustic drum sounds, even if I was using mostly 808 & 909 stuff at the time
I don't have any experience on thay software. A good method to tackle drum composition/programming is to tackle it one drum at a time and just later the shit out of it. Good luck friend and please check out my stuff over here if you have a free minute or two:
(different guy here) the remo session kits on ableton are alright, I usually just scour free sample sites and find stuff thats catered to my tastes. theres tonnes of vinyl-rip drum samples floating around. I've used both reaper and ableton for about 3 years and while Reaper is good for recording multiple inputs, trying to create electronic music on it is really just quite shit. abletons warp feature is unbeatable by any other program
QUICK HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS?
>tackle it one drum at a time and just later the shit out of it
so like do just kick drum, then move to snare etc? I'm assuming later is layer
>check out my stuff over here if you have a free minute or two
The first track is really good man, is that a 12 string? sounds great. sounds very 70s rock, zeppelin-esque, kinda eagles too.
don't really like the other tracks though desu. not that they're bad, just not my thing.
is it easy to record just a single guitar into ableton, like as easy as it in reaper? or should I use both programs
Hey guys i'm back with another, I am relatively new to music and I made this some days ago but never got around to uploading it.
I would really appreciate any constructive feedback you have!!! thanks!
yep, it's really easy. what interface do you have? usually if you have a 2-input interface, it will just record into left and right. if you put the effect 'utility' on both tracks and turn the width to zero, they'll be mono
Jesus christ man get your shit together

I only have the introduction finished. I would really appreciate some constructive feedback/criticism. Will do so in return for anyone who cares to help as well.
Finished this a few days ago senpai
hey, only just saw this then sorry. what exactly do you mean by that? ableton has a built in tempo detector that will assign a bpm to any audio track you drag in. this can be changed or removed but its usually pretty accurate
do you mean warp? because that was messing it all up.
also, I'm getting a lot of latency running my guitar into ableton, I turned on the reduced latency thing but it didn't do anything. reaper is pretty much latency free.
play the track, use the tap feature to determine the tempo you want, record over the top. theres probably a few ways to do it but that one always worked. sorry this is hard to explain over the internet too, wish I could help you IRL
I'll record a track of guitar (or other instrument that's the basis of a song), then tap tempo literally using tap tempo.com. Then I'll set up a metronome in DAW and re-record the guitar with that. Sometimes it takes some tweaking to get it to a speed where I feel comfortable.
After you have guitar lined up with a metronome you can program drums in by a grid which makes it easier to keep track of.
This is just my process.
random freestyle i did in my car, might make it a thing later on depending on how my feelings towards it changes

I usually follow back
This new song I recently released is quite IDM. The others are more like weird experimental electronic stuff, dark ambient, depending on mood.
I like the flow of the leads melodies. Especially the kinda slurring triplets in that riff about :30 in, and the wandering tail end of the lead around 2:30, gives the music a charming/endearing almost austere feel to it, and carries it through the breaks, which all go in the right (and familiar) direction.
