Terence Trent D'Arby never really came back from the backlash to his second album "Neither Fish nor Flesh." It did poorly when it came out in 1989, but with time, it's more and more appreciated as an interesting piece of work for a mainstream pop musician like he was back then.
And it was kind of big in Japan...
Not that they became bad, but they set the bar pretty high
