Whats with the obsession over the 10-odd albums labelled /mu/core?
Theyre mu core because people liked them so much initially. They're generally really good albums.
They're the greatest albums ever made.
They're also the ten albums people on /mu/ should listen to so they can engage in discussions as they are some of the most discussed albums on the board
>>61782777
They're really popular on this board so they get put on a special chart so they continue to be popular forever.
/mu/core is cancer
>>61783037
But are they the most discussed because they're good or because of the repetitious cycle purely caused by the chart itself.
>tfw ITAOTS is no longer /mu/core
>yfw all the american /mu/core stuff is terrible and only there because the majority of /mu/ posters are insecure yanks
Because if you like something that's not /mu/core, then you'll ignore
If you like something that's against the general consensus, they'll say it's b8 and call you a contrarian.
So people just stick to /mu/core to be safe.
which 10?
>>61783339
These I guess.
Don't worry, OP is just being contrarian as these are objectively the best and most essentials albums of the last 100 years.
>>61783405
ah, so meme albums
>>61782931
put your trip back on diaper boy
>>61783240
ITAOTS is the mascot of the entire board
>>61783405
take off mbdtf and put ys and it would be pretty solid
>>61783405
>these are objectively the best and most essentials memes of the last 100 years.
correct
>>61783405
MPP, not STTSTV.
Most of /mu/core isnt even/barely relevant to the board anymore
>>61783405
Out of this pic, probably ITAOTS, Loveless, MBDTF and Spiderland are still discussed constantly, and maybe Death Grips, but not that album.
Albums like STGSTV , Remain in Light, and Kid A could be sub /mu/core, but nobody discusses Untrue or Lift Yr. Skinny Fists nearly as much.
>>61783405
why is benji not on here
>>61783652
Why would it be?
>>61783524
in 2011 they did
it was a better time for mu
>>61783524
Honestly, most of /mu/core should be hip hop and then MBV and Radiohead.
I hate hip hop.
/mu/core is generally good except for some mediocre stuff.
>>61785776
same could be said about music
it creates a sense of community
>>61783524
This
I honestly never see Untrue on the board anymore, and if it is its on one of these /mu/core charts
>>61783524
>>61783524
Ah, so you're basing off /mu/ core albums by popularity. In that case K-pop should be in /mu/ core then
>>61785805
Ironic that /mu/ then hates on reddit for circlejerking over the same artists all the time.
>>61785900
No one talks about albums or music in /kpg/ though
>>61785900
>so you're basing off /mu/ core albums by popularity
Thats exactly what it is, albums spammed all the time, quality is irrelevant
>In that case K-pop should be in /mu/ core then
No, Its only one thread with less than 100 posters
>>61785811
Untrue is a great album, needs more discussion
>>61785917
Kpop and other korean shit should have there own board.
>>61786007
Hip hop and other nigga shit should have their own board.
>>61786013
>likes k pop
>doesnt like hip hop
>used the term nigga shit
>>61786039
>likes hip hop
>doesn't like k pop
>used the term korean shit
I don't like either because both are objectively shit.
>>61786050
>objectively
eat a bullet stupid
>>61786079
>implying you'd have had a problem if I just said kpop was objectively shit
>>61783405
>not Pet Sounds here
seriosuly? this album is posted every hour here, definitely more than majority from pic
/mu/core for a modern age
>>61787721
Much more accurate than the first chart posted here
