One of the saddest things that has ever happened is syd Barrett attempting a solo career of literally random bullshit watching his friends go on to make several GOAT albums. And the embarrassment of teenagers pushing themselves through a syd Barrett record for the one or two coherent moments they can stand up and proclaim him a genius. He's not senpai, he's miserable. For almost every successful band there was a syd Barrett type character who was too proud to make it into the lineup, syd Barrett had the misfortune of being famous for a botched career built on the pretense he could do anything better than pink Floyd.
