Any appreciation for Hot Sugar here?
Watching his doc and am really gaining respect for what he's doing.. What he's doing is not new of course but still quite refreshing among all this music sounding literally the same.

I love him but he said some stupid shit in the documentary. Maybe he was trying to drum up controversy, but saying "we don't even need instruments anymore" was just dumb. He's a great producer tho. Knows what he's doing and usually mixes his tracks pretty well, and also knows how to make a beat that gets stuck in your head. But the instruments thing was still stupid

He does what Autechre does essentially does with sampling but the result is much less musical. He'd get more love if his music didn't blow.
Honestly the only reason I keep hearing about him is because of this stupid how to video on sampling.

hmmm, don't you have to agree he's quite the virtuoso on the piano?

yeah
I enjoyed God's Hand, though I don't think he's released an album above a 7/10 (moon money is also a pretty alright ep too)

I agree, it's a bit of a fad and he won't really make it into the annals just yet, but somehow his sound really hits home with me.
Played God's Hand non-stop for weeks so I'm a bit bored with it, but it's just so catchy and gloomy in a kitsch way I keep coming back to it from time to time.
