Honestly i loved it, but i was a huge Daft Punk fan when it came out. Still love it but i don't listen to it often

/mu/ thought it was a 6/10 shit album, I agreed at the time and still do.

However it has a few good songs but a lot of the vocoder only songs are garbage.

it's okay, not garbage like HAA like /mu/ thinks, but not very good either.

honestly Discovery and Alive 2007 are by far the best Daft Punk albums and it isn't even close

"OK" album desu.
Its Fidelity and cleanness are its strength but much more a weakness
Too safe-played.
HAA isn't, and it's their best for its concept, which is sociocritical and quite deep desu

It was mixed on /mu/. I remember for every thread saying it was a 10/10 there was another saying 1 or 2or 3/10 and most people hovered around 6/10 - 8/10. Personally think it's a 7/10 for Daft Punk but a 9/10 for a music album with radio play. I think the fact there was so many contributers sort of convulted the feel of the album, too many cooks and all that. And I'm convinced Columbia made Daft Punk use Pharell to sell more CDs because fuck that guy. I still play some songs every now and then but nowhere near as often as Discoverey or Alive 2007.

Severely disappointed. The only one I really liked was Motherboard.

It's one of my favourite albums and probably the album that I have relistened to the most in the past couple of years, the production is great and I don't think that there are any dips in quality from start to finish. I think /mu/ is scared of music that is upbeat.

I'm not a big fan of earlier Daft Punk

It contains some of their best material, but overall is an in-cohesive album. The overzealous preaching on Moroder is in my opinion the low point of their career; a low which ruins an otherwise great daft punk track.

All in all it's not bad. I think I was expecting nu-disco along the lines of Machine or Flight Facilities and the melancholy chords threw me for quite a loop. I find it disappointing that Brass and female vocalists were not enlisted.

Nitpick: Drum's sounds bad.

Homework fan here, Discovery was way better than RAM.

Not saying its as good as Homework, but Discovery had some masterful dance tracks that happen to be very pleb friendly.

Human after all was ok.

If you ignore Pharrell Williams songs it's a pretty average album with some really great tracks (Beyond, Motherboard, Contact). It's unfortunate that the only thing people remember about it is Get Lucky.

That's actually not controversial at all. Homework is great but is was more a breakthrough of the House genre into the mainstream. HAA is probably the most interesting concept but it falls flat on its face due to production quality.

6/10 means "Good but nothing spectacular" and I would agree on that, but in no way is it shit. It's extremely well produced. A ton of care was put into it. It just fell short in that it sounded AMAZING at first and then didn't have any longevity because it was a throwback album.
