He is long ago much more than a /mu/ thing

do you post about anything besides Fantano? how is his contribution undeniable? what albums has he pushed on his own to make major releases in the music community? sure, he's ranked certain things somewhat incongruously to the rest of the music released around it like Death Grips, but they had a huge following going into his reviews and were hyped by Pitchfork which almost definitely gave them more exposure to fresh ears than Fantano did. at every other juncture, he piggy-backs on the scoops, opinions, and timeliness of other music publications and Wikipedia to create a made-up niche for himself, then he gets apologists like you and Chris Ott to defend him by calling up the eternal "just my opinion" card as well as ordaining him as important simply because his success was unlikely, making it where music criticism's ugly core - the need for connections - is not an embarrassment he has to cover up, but a badge of honor he can wear with pride. people who support Fantano are the cancer killing music journalism and making it where people with a Ph.D. in Google Studies overtake actual careful critics with good musical vocabularies and the ability to actually coherently describe music and its role in the wider society. i know it's hard to believe so, but you'd be better served learning how to read above a 6th grade reading level so you can digest The Wire, Tiny Mix Tapes, and the Quietus than you would be continuing to try to buy into the YouTube infotainment music criticism cottage industry.

There's Dead End Hip Hop, but they only do reviews in that genre. There's also Spectrum Pulse, but I'm not a fan of him at all because I rarely agree with his opinions and he mostly does reviews of music I'm not interested in. Here Lies Music is good, but he hasn't uploaded in ages and his videos are more of a gimmick than anything. Overall Fantano is the best choice out there IMO because of the variety you get in his reviews and the amount of content out there.

Dead End Hip Hop is very entertaining.

Aniway, let me share an idea i had with you /mu/tants. while i still do not know how to develop websites, it's something that i'm capable of learning, and besides i need to find something to do with my life.

So my idea was, that if i will learn how to build websites, maybe i will a build some sort of a forum for us /mu/tants that will also include a live chat room. i thought about calling it "The Patrician" to attract users from /mu/. The Patrician will have rules against trolling and cyber-bullying, that will encourage active music discussion and a friendlier environment.

Is this something you people in /mu/ would want? i'm curious. i know i would want it
