Wilco, Spoon, and Cake make some well composed music but make it simple enough for the majority of people and Mr. Gnome are very good with their drums.
They sound more complicated than they really are which is interesting to me.

I'd listen to the album How to Leave Town first. It's my favorite by him. It's sort of like a sad garage rock type of thing. One of my favorite artists personally.
