I honestly don't mind the /mu/core chart as long as it's used properly, as a starting point and not as a life line. I think the problem is that people will see this chart and only listen to albums without using these great albums to explore the respected artists' other albums or other albums of a similar nature. I mean, you can call them memes if you want but they're memed for a reason. Kind of Blue is a fantastic album and I will recommend it to anyone trying to get into jazz. However, if you listen to it once and think you're some kind of jazz connoisseur, you're a fucking idiot. So yeah, a jazz section would in theory be a good idea, but we all know what would happen.
