Lazarus - 8
Sue - 8
Girl Loves Me - 6
Dollar Days - 9

I liked Girl Loves Me more before he died. When you realize the album is about his death, it seems out of place
Blackstar - 9
'Tis a Pity - 8
Lazarus - 10
Sue - 8
Girl Loves Me - 9
Dollar Days - 10
I Can't Give Everything Away - 10
the last one is almost a 9 but that New Career harmonica fuckin hits me hard
I have to admit, I can see why the title track is interesting to people but i don't think it's 9 or 10 or even maybe 8 worthy
Like, the middle section doesn't flow well with the rest of the song, it sounds like something completely different he was working on
Compare it to how for example a song like only skin is obviously the product of at least three different compositions she was working on but it all flows perfectly
Maybe he should've spent less time listening to shit meme rap and more time listening to other songwriters who've done 10+ minute songs before
Do you really think that Bowie was listening to The Money Store every day before each session and going "How do I make this sound like Hacker"?
Saying your work is inspired by other work does not mean what you think it means.
Only Skin isn't as good as Emily or Sawdust or Cosmia. I'm mad at you
I disagree, the transition is seamless. In particular, it's very cool how the song keeps the disco beat while flowing back into the Gregorian chant stuff from the first half.
It's a 10 for me, a gorgeously crafted song with perfect transitions.
>Blackstar - 9/10
>Tis' a Pitty - 6/10
>Lazarus - 8/10
>Sue - 8/10
>Girl Loves Me - 10/10
>Dollar Days - 9/10
>I Can't Give Everything Away - 8/10
The scores will drop when the dust has settled I'm sure because I'm not use to giving such high scores. I just listened to it today.
well maybe you should grow the fuck up and learn to swallow someone else's opinion
like, i didn't even say only skin was my favorite song on ys or that i even fucking like joanna newsom, just giving an example of a long song that flows well and doesn't use some sample of him saying the same thing over and over again to tie it into the rest of the song and make it seem cohesive which is lazy and stupid
i could've said zercon flagpole sitter or me and my woman or jack orion for christs sake
>the transition is seamless
Here, I found a graphic for kindergartners that should help you understand how music discussion works
It's all opinion, objectivity faggot. To me, it's a seamless transition, to you it's jarring. I have no idea why you think it's bad because you didn't go beyond opinion either, so fuck off.
