What was the worst experience you ever had when listening to music with plebs?
just deal with it OP, you live in a world of plebs, you can stand to listen to top 40 music for an hour or two
I really hope that what you just said was copypasta because that was cringey af
Not necessary worst but during someone's birthday at work someone put Under Pressure on the radio and I said "I love that bass line" and the qt next to me just said "What's a bass ?"
Not even kidding.
>listening to This Is Happening with my gf at the time
>we were excited for the album so we decided to have our first listen of it in a car looking at the view of our city (where we first made love)
>play the album, Dance yrself clean is really quiet so I turned the volume to max
>the drums come in and blow out my speakers
it was going to be so romantic :(
Does he mean that it's structured like a pop song? He wouldn't exactly be wrong but to dismiss it as pop music is pretty insane.
To be fair though, this isn't exactly the most representative Can song.
>be with gf in car on the way to meet her parents
>"hey anon put on some music we can listen to on the way"
>put on Coil
>expect to establish dominance with my superior patrician taste over my plebeian gf's dull mind
>tell me she doesn't like
>"you have to put yourself in a situation of despair where you have lost everything and now pain has become your only pleasure" i say
>says to cut it out. Puts on Yeezus.
>remain quiet on the way to meet her parents
>when we get there she introduces me
>"mom, dad! this is my bf anon"
>pull my dick out
>cum on their faces
>keep calling my gf and her mom cunts while fucking the dad
>run back home
>go on /mu/
>make "tfw no gf" thread
>chillin with the homies
>trying to watch a movie
>most autistic looking kid turns on stereo
>begins to play some generic trance so loud we can no longer hear the movie
>friend asks if its house
>autist scoffs and says no its trance
>autist and autistic friend won't shut the fuck up about really shitty electronic music
>other friend asks him to turn it down so we can watch the movie
>nah dude I'm cool
>doesn't do shit about it and we are forced to watch the movie with shitty trance playing the entire time
>eventually finish the movie
>bunch of people get there with drinks
>start passing around the bong and taking shots
>autistic kid's wearing a shitty t shirt with a rip in the back conveniently placed on his ass so we can all see his ass crack whenever he stands
>he's still discussing trance with my friend who is almost as autistic as him
>they start talking about aphex twin
>dude plays the most obscure and cringy aphex twin track while the rest of us are trying to party
>everyone moves to another room while he and my friend listen the cringiest idm imaginable the whole night
Tl;Dr party ruined by autistic kid playing idm
> dubstep's in, chillin by stereo with friends at party and rocking some tunes
> chick comes by, wants to impress
> "hey, thats the guy Dubstep playing, right?"
> dead serious
>on a bus full of christian teeny boppers, long story don't ask
>that AWOLnation song Sail comes up on the radio
>somehow they all know it
>they've all been heavily sheltered their entire lives so this song is "edgy and cool" to them I guess
>they're all singing along to it, clapping their hands
>one girl starts crying
>the bus driver was even in on the action
>even something as oud and obnoxious as Nails wasn't enough to drown them out
>silently cry inside in the back
Honestly my worst musical experience is with /mu/ types.
Basically /mu/ people are super militant about music, and it almost always kills the vibe.
You're like hey dog, I heard of this cool band STRFKR let's listen to some of that. Then they are all like, yo dog I listened to STRFKR like 1 mil years ago. What you really need is some Death Grips.
Proceed to hate the ear grating non chillness of Death Grips. You say it's not my jam dog. Then they get pissed.
Non-/mu/ people are much more amiable.
I once listened to music with a pleb
I think his name was John... Or Jeb?
Well anyway, he put on Sting
And said it was the greatest thing
I raged inside, I raged for real
But then it dawned on me :
Music just isn't everyone's deal.
>had a friend at a new school
>always offered me rides after school
>ride in the truck
>speakers blasted so loud the seats rumbled and the windows shook when rolled up
>had hail to the king playing as loud as possible from his phone plugged into the car radio
>"DUDE METAL TO THE MAX HAHA"
>mlp techno and dubstep comes on
>this would occur at least once a week
>talking to my other friends one day
>topic got to death metal
>mlpfag tried to get in on it saying he loves metal like volbeat
>other friend laughs
>few weeks after that mlpfag kept trying to find exactly what I liked since I liked death metal and grindcore, and he couldn't stand it
>kept trying to tell me volbeat has "death metal roots"
>endured this for months
I would have said fuck it but he took me anywhere I asked and would always buy food.
a friend argued that g-eazy is not generic and actually has depth to his music
>playing classical for people
hurr durr look how cultured i am lmao
>every time I'm in the car with friend
>strictly YouTube covers, mid 00's mtv pop punk, and anime themes
You thought you knew hell
It's just autistically frustrating when plebs dismiss your music for being arrhythmical or being "out of tune". Why can't plebs forget for one second what they listen to in the radio and give theirselves to unknown sounds?
I had a moment where I was the pleb at first.
>friends and I go on camping trip
>they say to load up on music to play since it'll be a long drive
>load up on EDM and some shitty rap I liked.
>Be the first one to play
>Joey Bad-ass b4 da $$
>I put it on shuffle not thinking it was a probelm
>one freind looks at ipod
>"anon is this on shuffle"
>they laugh and explain why it's better to play in order
>go on to play music I never have heard
>decline to play my music later on
>shows me shit I really like now
It stills makes me cringe sometimes. I really didn't know about anything else than EDM and some rap. Kinda bad for me.
Most of them were when I was a cringy kid, and bad on my part. Not that bad at the time,
but in hindsight I looked autistic.
As far as recent shit, I ended up hanging out with a lot of DUDE WEED LMAO
and they are into some really bad stuff. Their taste was defined entirely by
heavy baselines, triple x rated type shit. I can get into that, but these songs
were just bad all around. They basically seemed to think the closer you got to
blowing your speakers, the better the music is.
>be getting DUDE with friend and his little bro, and one of his friends whom i don't know
>dude i don't know puts on a shitty dubstep remix of Take It or Leave It by Cage the Elephant
>"Hey this is CTE"
>dude doesn't know who CTE is
>"nah man this is TalentlessHack McShitfuck, he makes some fire songs senpai"
>let his song finish
>play the original song
>friend and little bro both agree that the original is better
Remixes are fucking cancer.
>girl won't leave me the fuck alone about what music I'm into
>I put on my girls as it's the most accessible anco song
>thirty seconds in right when the vocals start she says it's the worst thing she's heard
>she puts on total eclipse of the heart by bonnie tyler and starts singing it loudly
>at friends place
>smoking hella mad dank herb
>Hey dude i got this band i want you to check out
>Flips on his speakers at full blast
>unironically starts playing 21 pilots
>Hanging out with friends at autistic kid's apartment
>We are trying to watch the Cavs game and smoke some weed
>Autistic kid turns on youtube parody songs (The Key of Awesome, Rucka Rucka Ali, etc.)
>Can't really say anything cus it's his house
>I'm sitting there, stoned out of my mind, having to listen to this gutter trash
>The autistic kid was singing along to it, I shit you not
>have a cousin
>all cousin listens to is cringe tier rap like Mac Miller, Odd Future, Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino
>everytime I go to his house I have to endure this shitty music
>Tom Waits doesn't make real music.
>Sting is better he has more Grammy Awards
>All these tracks drums are the same! They all use cymbals!
>[Played Niggas on the Moon for someone]These are just random words that don't mean anything
>[Played T.Rex for someone] These are just random words that don't mean anything
>[A non-english album] Do you understand this, anon?
>Do you really listen to this music?
>The look when someone playfully takes an earbud off you to listen to your music and its harsh noise
That's some middle school kinda music. I don't understand how people can listen to this, being older than 16. It's awful I have a friend who's 22 and he listens to Your Favorite Martian. i can't fathom it.
This is kind of the opposite of the thread I guess.
>Around the bonfire with my mates a few years back
>Friend who is plebius maximus hits the hay
>Me and this guy are shooting the shit as the fire goes down. Plebius is kind of our mutual friend so I don't know this guy too well
>"What music do you listen to anon?"
>I have been asked this enough not to tempt anything
>"Just whatever. Rock, you know."
>"I've been getting into this genre but I can't find enough of it. I only got a few good records of it"
>"It's called stoner rock. It's really good. I know you don't smoke, that's just the name"
>I since got him into shoegaze and am weaning him into noise
>meanwhile plebius maximus is still ripping vidya OSTs off of youtube
It's so nice to realize no one will ever care about your taste in music and to just stop discussing it with most people. It's so freeing
One of them fainted from Ecstasy at the Stereophonic
...that's pretty dreadful on lots of levels
