What would be your honest-to-god reaction if Bowie came back as one of his characters and his death was a publicity stunt?
This. I'd actually be pretty ecstatic and I'd definitely consider Bowie the boldest and most fascinating performer in the history of popular music if he had the balls to fake his own death.
>New persona starts a band
>People like the band (obviously)
>They tour the world
>Last song of the last show of the tour, they play a cover of "Rock 'n' Roll Suicide"
>At the end of the song the new persona "kills" himself on stage, only to reveal that it was Bowie all along in costume
It's not going to happen, guys.
I'm not saying he did fake it but if he did fake it it would probably look like what happened
>concept album about dying released on his birthday days before his death
>death announced on his official twitter, "confirmed" by his son
>close personal friends respond to his death by talking about how cool the new album is
>tribute show was planned months beforehand and scheduled to be announced exactly the day he died
See that's the thing, nobody believes he's really gone, because, like Elvis, he's so much a part of the culture, he isn't *allowed* to die.
And then somebody--Gaga, maybe?--does a hologram of him on stage like they did with Tupac.
Lol this thread is the plot to this movie (based off the lives of david bowie, iggy pop and lou reed)
great film btw would recommend
what did you guys think of it?
My inner troll would love it. I'd probably be a tiny bit pissed because I loved the guy and faking it to this extent is a level of dickery I would have thought he was above. I'd mostly just be happy though because I want David Bowie back.
I swear it's only Americans who are pushing this ludicrous conspiracy shit. Bowie would've considered this rude and unbecoming.
He would've never agreed to go along with a fake death.
>Bowie would've considered this rude and unbecoming.
no he probably would've loved that any sense of mystery has arisen over his death. he was a performer and he made his death a part of his performance. he wanted to give us something to talk about one last time with his death which is why he made a video like lazarus.
i keep thinking something's going to happen on the 14th since according to the bible, Lazarus was brought back to life four days after he died. why is no one thinking how weird it is that he named about his death after someone who was resurrected? i wonder if someone will "take his place" as he says on blackstar.... that lyric is so mysterious. i hope not though
he has multiple personalities, only one of them died.
Yesterday I thought this was totally what the idea was given that song Lazarus. One more day until we see if it's right. Right now I'm pretty down so if he comes back I'll just be incredibly relieved he's ok.
I don't think gaga would be nearly as popular if it wasn't for the, IMO, bullshit attention aesthetics and visual stunts. Which is a pretty fucking lameass way to get popular as a MUSICian. I liked some stuff, but she really turns me off.
I wish Holo-Pac gave her the Holo-points.
It's not gonna happen
What I DO suspect, is that there will be a new video clip of one of the songs on Lazarus or outtakes of Lazarus released in 2 days, so he figuratively 'comes back from death'
