Guitar and bass somewhat proficiently, piano occasionally. Wanna learn cello and/or a woodwind instrument possibly.

You could learn some Satie. Comparatively easier than other big names, but still challenging enough so that you'll make some progress.

anything you reccomend specifically beside the Gymnopedie memes

These perhaps?
>>

I would recommend the Gymnopedies, actually, yes. They're actually pretty difficult (for me, anyway, but I don't have good separate hand coordination yet)

I play piano, just started a couple months ago

I am learning Clementi Op 36 No 1, it is fun

I just wanna play the wtc and mozart sonatas already though : (

>The works are for the most part in free time (lacking time signatures or bar divisions) and highly experimental with form, rhythm and chordal structure

Sounds kinda like me. The first piece I learned was prelude in C major. Ive never made a serious attempt to learn any of the other ones though.
>>
>>61671830
haha ya i sight read through the C major prelude like every second day,
I've also memorized the first like, 8 measures of a bunch of the fugues, after that the third voice comes in and i give up
>>
>>61671891
Wow I've done that too for some of the fugues. One day I plan on committing myself to learn the first fugue in c major.
Up until recently I've been learning pieces on youtube, but I'm now trying to teach myself to read sheet music.
>>

Ya im taking it sloooow, im learning super-simple Bach pieces and then im gonna probably get a teacher for the inventions. I'm fine waiting a long time I just wanna be really good by the end of it.

Luckily the slower more chromatic fugues such as Bbm and Fm are my favorites, so it makes it easy. This is a great non WTC one too. I actually take composition lessons and am probably gonna go for piano lessons from a different guy at the same place who's also an organist, so i might try to dabble in organ if i can ever afford the midi pedals, they're incredibly expensive for some reason.

Gets my heart going when you can hear the valves clicking and the air flowing

I prefer the more lively preludes/fugues, which will make it harder for me to learn. Ive also started to listen to some organ recently (mostly Bach and Buxtehude). It would be awesome to learn how to play organ, but I personally like the harpsichord more. It would be amazing to get a chance to play one
>>
>>61672918
Oh man i want a harpsichord so bad, I dont even have a real piano though

At least my digital has a pretty harpsichord setting, and the free version of hauptwerk is great for organ.
>>
I recently got a coda pro to practice on at my house. The harpsichord setting isn't great, and I haven't gotten a usb midi cable yet

I see, ya yamaha p-115 here, feels pretty good and I mostly use VSTs with headphones anyhow to practice.

Ya, hard to capture that "harpsichordian" brilliance.
