In Utero
>>61648220
So the idiot?
>>61647164
I think that album is way too energetic to be a haunted album. Still sad that he had to go so soon after making such a good one, though.

He finished recording King's Crossing only a few days before.

holy shit I just found out that New Order is the three other members from Joy Division. Oh my god.

Queen's "Innuendo".
"Show Must Go On" is literally Freddie Mercury's death song.

Nigga, the end of the album is him literally saying goodbye after a track simulating the hectic nature of a hospital (The Factory). Also U-Love is him saying I love you too.
Shit is a sad album at the end.
>>61652272
I can't believe it took this long into the thread. Balance basically predicted his own fucking death.
>>61649882
this tbqh
>>61652603
Listening to this for the first time after his death was fucking scary
The whole album was him literally predicting his own death
The last song is called You're Nobody (Til Somebody Kills You) for fucks sake
>>61652603
This. Every last thing about it.
>>61652743
It's probably the best song on the album too. Might be my favorite song of his in general.

Artist dies soon after making/releasing it.
Vic Chesnutt's whole life, but this album in particular.

He's also featured on "Dark Night of the Soul" which is a collaborative project of Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse. That album is /haunted/ in itself because of Linkous' suicide during its release.

Only just noticed that 2 of my favourite albums have the link that the artist died shortly after recording. How depressing
>>61653190
Um
No
It's not
Warren Zevon - The Wind
>>61648220
The main thing I remember about him was that Curtis suffered from both grand mal epilepsy and clinical depression - and his antiseizure medication had a side effect of making the depression much worse. Toward the end of his he resorted to self-medication - between all of this, the strain on his marriage, and the day before his suicide reportedly having a seizure so bad it broke his collarbone.
everything from song ohia/jason molina seemed haunted

Another one.

today i learned that if i ever write a song i must never sing about my death or i'll jinx it
I'd kill myself after making this album, too.
>>61653980
>CAUSE IM A MANNNN WOMONNNN
what did he mean by this?
>>61653980
Poor girl. The hormone treatments were starting to raise her vocal range.
>>61650863
Not to mention "You Know You're Right" is basically Cobain screaming at his wife about what drove him to suicide, even though it never ended up on any album until post-mortem.
>>61653539
Didn't he make one more album before he died?
>>61654571

>>61660310

>>61650135
>Brian why are we doing my songs first?
>>61655833
Mary Hansen died after this and the cover is kind of spooky.
>>61655833
Yeah, it's not his final album, but look at the damn cover. Then admit you weren't listening to Jay Reatard until after he was dead. Haunted.
>>61654823
how?
>>61662756
but it's a conceptual album about a serial killer
that cover is intentional and contextually cohesive you alarmist mong
>>61652637
Balance was already dead when The Ape of Naples was released. A lot of the material goes back to the 90's and various live performances, though. I think it's more depressing to realize that in order to make the album, Peter had to put together all these vocal takes of a guy who was his best friend and partner for decades.
>>61652743
I've noticed that that's a trend with a lot of great artists. I don't believe in a higher power that much but fate sure is eerie when artists are at deaths door.
This thread is shit and you should be embarrassed
At work right now but want to say Gil Scott Heron - Pieces of a Man is pretty haunted. Also that Elliot Smith album that released 2 weeks after his suicide
>>61663855 (czeched)
this fucking album
if there was ever a suicide inducing album, it's this.
>>61654672

I cannot believe that no one has posted this yet.
>>61664975
>mad that a small group of people on the internet are posting about an album you like more frequently than before
>>61662945
The album Ian Curtis listened to when he hanged himself.
In "So Real" Buckley sings
"I couldn't awake from the nightmare
That sucked me in, and pulled me under, pulled me under..."
He died from drowning sometime after releasing the album.
