Post your RYM curves
hmmm, also rate and hate each other :3
huh, okay. i was trying to connect to anything for about 20 minutes and nothing was working. i was about to lose my mind, it was terrifying
anyway has anybody been following this year so far? i've only heard Blackstar and that was pretty good. also i wish i loved music as much as some of you guys
rating systems like sellmeagod's don't carry any weight, so that's probably why people don't care
Was looking through charts to find some good stuff to spend the last of my freeleech tokens on. God damn does rym have shit taste in a lot of genres.
Those aren't the same person, m8.
You've got ten possible ratings to give music. I don't see why you wouldn't center them along the middle and allow as many graduations for better albums as for worse albums.
Obviously I'll rate the stuff I actually like first.
Also I decided to review everything I rate, so to give reason behind why I rated something as I have.
But sometimes I just don't know what to write, and then my review is the worst thing ever.
(There are few things I've rated, before I've decided to review everything, so I'm also re-rating and reviewing those).
You don't always know an album will be bad or good without listening to them though. It's important to explore past boundaries even if the genre is something you've probably heard and hated before
Based on what I've seen if you take everyone's 5s and compile them into one list and rate them the average would be between 2 and 3. The vast majority of music isn't good compared to the very best music, even if you're picking and choosing. That makes me distrustful of the taste of anyone with a lot of 5s or a noticeably upwardly skewed curve
>You don't have to finish an album to rate it
would you prefer it to be like pitchfork where 7.5 = crap? and it's not surprising that albums don't come close to a perfect score when the ratings come from thousands of people with different tastes
That's not the point. It's the fact of the matter of how much good music is out there. I've only even found a handful of albums that deserve the highest rating, and they are definitely considerably better than the next best rating. If albums that good were the norm then it'd be a different story
Way to miss the point retard
The point is that people give low scores to music not because it's actually bad but because they don't get it
I can get appeal of certain albums even if I don't like them much
do you guys understand that weighting varies for each and every user on the site DEPENDING on the rating system that they use?
i can help you on your musical journey; Friend...................
