OP here. Listening to it now, maybe saying it sounds like "a lot of noise" is inaccurate. I think I just bought too much into the hype before listening; people were talking as if it was some super immersive and dreamy album that totally encapsulates you in sound, and it just doesn't sound like that to me. I don't know if I'm just not diving deep enough into it or what, but I'll give it a few more listens in the next week or so before completely writing it off

If you've only just started listening to it now, it might take a few times for your brain to work out what the fucks going on. You'll start to break it out into separate layers and it should make sense. Or you might just not like it idk

Listen to Isn't Anything and then listen to Loveless. Isn't Anything is so much better. Dreamier, more accessible and immediate. I also really love their EPs. I've listened to Loveless countless times and some songs are gorgeous and striking, but I find that record to be unremarkable as a whole.

When I smoke I just can't listen to music, it's not that it makes music sound bad but I can never find a song that fits right if that makes any sense.
