Not a fan of either Earl or Brown, but I think that Nas is overrated as well. No good albums other than Illmatic
>>61608367
I like this one the most although I'd put Kendrick instead of Andre 3000 due to Dre's reluctance to work on anything rap related anymore, which more or less makes him not an MC. Outkast is still an incredible act, don't get me wrong.

Kendrick in a top 10 let alone top 3? Do Kendrick fans just sit around jacking each other off until they actually believe the garbage that comes out from their mouths? Hes good no doubt but his lyrical skill cant even come close to past people like Big L, Doom, Rugged man, Nas, Biggie, Eminem, Ice Cube, Pun etc
He would get dicked on by the greats of today too King Los, A-F-R-O, Run the Jewels, Lupe, etc. He isnt even the best in a generation of shit, compared to the competition of the 90's hes losing to a bunch of nobodies.
>>61608672
>no good albums other than illmatic

2. Big L
1. Nas

I agree with Guru. Nobody seems to mention him as much as they should.
>>61607903
Earl is the most influencing rapper of the 2010's. Earl is innovative in his use of time signatures and complex, vowel-based rhyme schemes.
Eminem brought a new level of technical skills into the rap world. Put that with his flexibility, exploration of different, inovative ideas and styles, and how much he develops between one album to another, and it is safe to say he is the first real "genius" rap has seen.
Nas made one album which showed masterful control of the 90's gangsta-rap style. Then he made a bunch of albums - some good, some kinda bad, not even one of them significant.
hella kendrick dickriders in here
i liked him until he released that muh black power / evil whites abomination which people feel obligated to like because it forces an unusual, unpredictable jazz influence contrasted with random shitty cut scenes and change in flows - its therefor the perfect album. lol no
>eminem
his new stuff is trash but his past albums are good enough to make him one of the best
>MF DOOM
>Andre 3000
Imma say fuck that and do top 5
Andre 3000
El-P
Danny Brown
Earl
Kendrick
>>61611193
Nas reinvented rapping like Rakim did. Even if you do not personally enjoy his discog post-illmatic, Nas is one of the most objectively influential artists of all time. Both Em and Earl HEAVILY derive their storytelling techniques from Nas. Big derived his style from illmatic Ready to die was going to be a pop album then he heard illmatic and made joints like everyday struggle, things done changed and gimmie the loot.
Fuck off you fucking retard
anyways top 3
1.Notorious
2.Black Thought
3.Common Sense
Honorable mentions kendrick big daddy kane rakim qtip and em
>>61611406
>Danny Brown
>Earl
>Kendrick
>>61611904
bro hip hop is better than its ever been. and in 10 years, that top five will be filled with newer rappers.
that being said, i wouldn't argue with someone putting Rakim or Ice Cube in there just because of the influence they had on the game.
>>61611904
Earl has like one good album, and he doesn't even like wordplay, double/triple entendres or storytelling.
He's overrated as fuck by /mu/ just because he made a depressing album that was like a 6/10
