What's your favorite guitarists, /mu/?
Judging however you want, whether it's technical prowess, songwriting, or something else.
pic related, Buckethead kicks ass
his technique may not be impressive but i just fucking dig his style.
forever will be on of my favorites
I've noticed that, he also uses incorrect right hand fingerings, like repeating his index finger multiple times rather than alternating between middle and ring fingers. His technique isn't necessarily "perfect," but he's still a damn good guitarist. As far as his right and left hand posture though, those are god-like
Malmsteen literally just plays the harmonic minor scale fast.
Dave Mustaine, his solos may be lacking and his singing garbage, but I don't think there is a single guitarist who can top his riffage.
One of the best guitarists of all time
Being out of major concert range is suffering
Terry Kath is the guitar god.
Hendrix allegedly thought that Terry Kath was better than him.
No particular order:
Fred Frith, Robert Fripp, Carl-Michael Eide, Derek Bailey, Hasjarl (whatever his real name is, it's a bloody mystery), L. A. Spinetta, Caspar Brötzmann, Andrés Segovia, Davy Graham, Ernest Ranglin, Frank Zappa, Hans Reichel, John McLaughlin, Yusaf Parvez, Justin Broadrick, Allan Holdsworth, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Levene, Luc Lemay, Joni Mitchell...
I dunno. Probably more.
Woops, forgot to copy the article
Little bit of his singing. He was known as the White Ray Charles
Yeah, most of his stuff is just generic guitar wankery, but some of his albums are actually really good:
>A Real Diamond in the Rough
And I remember liking a more recent Pike, Wall To Wall Cobwebs, but I don't really recall why I liked it or really anything about it.
>no mention of Thomas Erak, the chosen one
thanks for the lmao friends
Should I give Joe Satriani another chance? I see people praise him a lot and that he's an amazing guitarist, but I heard his first three albums and was very underwhelmed. I don't think it was his technique that was lacking, just the songs overall that left me bored.
>no luke hoskin
shit taste t.b.h
if that doesn't convince you he's the goat you are a cuckold who deserves all the BBC in the world
Ok sorry for the wait.
Crystal Planet, most of the Strange and Beautiful Music album, If I Could Fly, Super Colossal, Crowd Chant, Pyyric Victoria and watch him jam with funtwo to Canon Rock
Finally some good answers
The shit he does live is just amazing. Plus all his guitars are gorgeous.
