The people who hate St. Vincent are worse than the people who like her but there are a lot of delusional St. Vincent fans that can't accept that she's not the peak of musical perfection.
I like St. Vincent but I can't stand other people calling out anyone that says anything about her that isn't the utmost praise.
is it that one who keeps posting the "Jar Jar Binks being punched" picture?
this shit used to be so fucking fun.
now it's embarrassing to say you're a fan of o.f
Worst fanbase? These degenerates by a fucking mile.
i want to brutally torture her for days and make brandon watch
came here to post that.
this was the next to come to mind
pic related is a slightly higher-hanging fruit, but only slightly
"Liking Pink Floyd is one of the signs of high intelligence"
I have to be perfectly honest
I don't really know where the hate for her came from
I think her first 3 albums were pretty good
Now if you're talking about her David Byrne and s/t shit then yeah I understand
And I don't know where all the hate for S/T comes from. Or LTG for that matter. LTG isn't amazing but it was a hell of a lot better than I was expecting with this entire board calling it shit all the time. S/T also gets way too much shit on here and I think it's mostly because they don't like her not being the shy indie girl the way she was before. That is, nothing to do with the music they just don't like her not being indie grrl #65818 and change scares them.
Often for their comments because they love the band so much and can't find anything completely similar in terms of style and quality that they gush over them
Radiohead fans are the same
But Tool fans are even weirder when they say shit like "orgasmic" "epic"
Tool are pretty cool musically. Ive been a fan from age 12 to 18 but dont listen much anymore at all
you also have the fedora lords who bring their bullshit philosophy into it
Official Worst Fanbase list
3. Dream Theater
6. Pink Floyd
9. The Beatles
10. Whatever tween flavor of the month is happening at the moment
So yes, you're sad she's not indie grrl #65818. And in any case her music has always been "OMG ITS SO DIFFERENT" you just didn't care because she was a generic indie girl. But now she's doing something different with her persona and suddenly it's a bad thing despite literally nothing changing.
I hate all those fans like the 30-40 year old neckbeard weirdos who like Ween, Zappa, Primus, Mike Patton's stuff..
Dated joke music.
Also people who think Ariel Pink's entire discography is 100% genius
They're actually worse than filthy frank tier
And the worst part is that DG KNOWS this and it's exactly why they split up
Bottomless Pit is going to be the most left field "experimental" goofy shit that no one will like just so they can get their cred back
fanboys love their "experimental pop" music, that's retarded pop music can't be experimental or it wouldn't be pop.
i guess your crime is not knowing run-of-the-mill, uninspired thrash-metal when you hear it. to be fair, their stuff sounds so hackneyed in part because it was influential i suppose. but even their contemporaries did better shit.
i feel like Megadeth would fall into the category of a lot of artists posted ITT, where their fans are just waaaaaaay more passionate about it than it seems like they have any reason to be, and will try to sell you HARD on them being absolute fucking geniuses, when they simply are not.
you know, much like:
at least most fan bases keep it to themselves unless you ask. these little Kanye shits cant help but shit post with his new album release date in every fucking thread.
nah man, you seem like you wouldn't bother trying to make me like Megadeth. therefore it doesn't annoy me at all.
there is not a single post in this thread that applies to every single fan of an artist. except maybe ICP. other than that, we're talking general trends here.
also, to be honest i would rather have somebody rave at me about Megadeth's genius than Metallica's. at least you wouldn't just be bandwagoning the absolute most famous artist of a given genre.
I made the switch from reddit to 4chan about 6 months ago when I heard Lonerism for the first time. My pleb friends on reddit were really excited about Currents, and I liked it too. Then I dug deeper in Tame Impala's discography and discovered the little known experiential psych album Lonerism and there was no going back. I knew I had to find a new internet message board for free thinkers like me.
Since then I've been listening to nothing but the most highly experimental and avant garde music like Animal Collective and Aphex twin; bands the average redditor wouldn't understand. I'm glad to finally be among my patrician peers, blowing reddit the fuck out every night!
I love Cobain for some reason but easily the most overrated band ever. Mudhoney is way better.
