Albums that encapsulate the "city night" feeling perfectly
>>61583026
I will defend this album anytime.

Why is this album in particular the fedora jazz album
pls
>>61583110
any staple of /r/darkjazz will do...
here's a less fedora alternative, although it evokes the nostalgic longing for bygone fedora-times

>>61583110
It has sax, so it's "jazz". it's "jazz", so it's "classy", you know what's next. It's a neat album that doesn't deserve this, but what can you do.

Inb4 Burial
>>61583026
that feeling feels like wearing a fedora walking down a city street late at night. lighting a cigerette and seeing the smoke illuminated as you walk from streetlight to streetlight.

when it's late at night and you missed your bus ride home and it's starting to rain so you head inside the mcdonalds next to the bus site and try hard to stay awake while you wait for the last bus of the night to come in
>>61583575

>>61586648
I still have no idea what you're talking about m8. If you mean it's a long album title then yeah, but the title itself seems pretty apt.
obvious one

REAAALL HUMAAAN BEAAAN
>>61583026
Love this album, but I think the one after is lacking
>>61584234
i think i listened to this album too many times
because I waited 2 months from my last listen and it just wasn't the same...
there was a period of time where i would listen to it up to 4 times a day, each day of the week, for multiple weeks in a row
fuck... why did i do that
Horsesteppin' to me feels like warm summer night in a city.
>>61586758
>long
ofc is not about that. I just can picture them thinking how to build the title around the word "nothing" and then coming up with this after many tries and being all like "fuck yeah we got it now this sounds deep and all doesn't it".
>>61586798
interesting album art, i'd like to give it a listen, link?

It reminds me of walking home from work on dark winter nights
>>61586814
Sunset is the best and most serious thing they've released by far. Black Earth is mostly just DUDE DARK AND SPOOKY LMAO.
>>61586983
You've basically just described the dadrock argument and why it's all bullshit.
So basically you have a decent title, and you've got really good lyrics - getting to the root of the concept you wish to talk about - but because it's explicitly about that subject and nothing else, it has to be "too obvious" which evolves into pretentious, which eventually evolves into nobody being able to talk about anything real anymore by expressing themselves. It's a classic argument, pretentiousness, but it also means nothing. For instance if you were talking about Dream Theater or a band like them, I'd be inclined to agree with you, but honestly you have no idea what their intentions were, do you?
>>61587066
thanks anon.
>>61587125
Haven't listened to anything else by them, is there anything really worth listening to outside of sunset?
>>61586750
You've probably gone but make sure you watch the Final Cut, the cinematic is terrible.
>>61587314
Gore Motel is the band at their rawest and Midnight Radio at their drone-est. I'd recommend these.
Tyty
Sounds like 3am in a Sheffield industrial estate.
>>61583906

The entire LateNightTales series.

I'm not dissing the album itself nor the band, but no matter what their intentions were you must admit that title is something so funny in its forced excess it might as well be an excerpt from your 13 yr old sister's secret diary.

I'd like to welcome you to your first day on /mu/
I know it seems pretty try hard but once you spend more than two hours on this board, you'll find far more "tryhard" titles and eventually you won't give a shit
