Here's my new Alternative R&B track called "Worth It". It has some Toronto vibes, over "trappier" production than what I've previously done. I appreciate you guys taking the time to listen!
This has gotten a pretty good response, hopefully some of you like it too.
I return all feedback!

Like reccomendations mean anything lol.
But youre right will leave some feedback.
Nice production on the instruments but imo the processing on the voice is horrible. Feels forced. I really dont like it.
Really weird because the rest ofthe production of you song is top notch.
Kind of generic tho.
Cool but the track is really crowded. Also some of the sound designs I dont like while others are really good.
Really good mix aswell. Solid stuff. The track just feels kind of rushed on some aspects.
While this is a pretty solid production. There is almost nothing that keeps it interesting for more then a minute.
Really boring track. Try to get some more variation in ur track man. Some new synths sounds, or some percussion maybe?
I would lower treshhold on ur limiter. THis track is sausaged and that doesnt sound nice. I like ur piano sound tho. Really
gets me hooked. Shame that the track is over compressed over limited. Makes it kind of unlistenable.
Critics are welcome!
Some stuff I finished yesterday:
Not completely happy about the mix yet tho'.
>Guitar, Piano and shit
Thanks for feedback. Piano sound is a "stab" sound sampled from somewhere. I know there's a huge mastering problem on that track, compression was a headache. Also it depends a lot on the soundsystem on which you listen to it (i know it's no excuse). It's a proper nightmare on headphones though.
Especially the layering, and how the voice is presented within the mix.
It feels kind of uncohesive. U have all kind of nice instruments and on top of that. A overlayered(if that is a word) vocal that takes all attention.
I would try a more subtle approach next time
Yea overcompressed tracks usually sound waay better on big systems. Listened it on headphones as you stated and it wasnt nice.
Just look up some tutorials. I always try to let limiter suck up the least amount possible. Rather have a tracl that is more quiet but still sounds decent then a overcompressed one.
Is there anyone working on Reason and owning the 8th version, or Essentials and/or the synthetic Rig.
I'm on Reason 4 and planning to get Essentials+Synthetic rig (as i can't afford a full version).
>metal space jam rock
The link i posted is actually a private link to something else i've been working on lately. kind of going in a different direction with it. This one's pretty droned out. I know it's not the best quality but I'd really like to know about the quality of the sound if anyone can take the time to listen to it. Not going to rec anything yet but going through thread now liking and feedbacking etc... Thanks for listening
Interesting. I've noticed that on some headphones the high-mids and highs can be a bit abrasive. Mastering is an ongoing process.
If you'd like to hear some possibly more natural sounding vocals I might suggest my album Overgrowth - there are three tunes off of it on my Soundcloud, I'd be interested to hear your feedback on them

Hell yeah dude! Great guitar playing. Stoked to hear some vocals
Damn, now here's something I haven't seen on these threads. Sounds good though man. I would be down to hear some chill parts with clean guitars at some point but that might just be personal preference.

check me out I check you out senpai
I decided to start making covers for some reason. They are a bit odd.
Haha nice, what vocal effect is that? So fire.
Love it, we dont do this genre but I'm a big fan, sounds like acoustic Saves The Day.
We just released a new fire track, super smooth, super vocal sample heavy, and were getting a guest rapper from our lovely little /mu/ community to help out with the finished track!
>synthpop, but catchy and smooth and makes your ears so happy :))
Peep us, we f4f and all that and yeah, thanks!!!
this is me
aight, I'm gonna check out your new tracks
Dimmed: Really like how this track builds up and leads into the next one. beat is good
Savage: this track is really good, the rapping could have been better but i really got lost in the beat for this one. really dug those metallic sounds that came in and out during the track.
Bite: i like the little keyboard part that opens the track. the vocals are a little too buried in the mix for my taste but hey, my style is to sort of have the vocals ride over the beat. maybe i've been listening to too much Public Image Ltd lol. overall this is a pretty chill track.
Overall, these are pretty good :) I enjoyed these tracks, they're pretty solid so keep on keepin on brotendo
new EP in the works

Literally just uploaded a new track
>lo fi punk
this track was great, like i said on soundcloud it reminded me of Grazhdanskaya Oborona (Civil Defense). it has a really good beat and i loved the bass on this track. I really love your sound.
I also listened to King of the Dump and it was also fantastic, very atmospheric. I really liked the piano, it reminded me of when Tenement does their weird slow piano sound.
overall great work, highly recommend to everyone

I would GREATLY GREATLY GREATLY appreciate feedback on what I did well and what I could work on. I realize it's terrible but I am learning music for the first time in my life.
great beat man, I really spaced out to this. loved the drums. i also checked out always and i loved the synth/organ samples :)
i actually liked this, i thought it was cute. i liked the ending part where it went uptempo.

No real way to describe it. But i'm done with my trap phase.
Pretty chill, kinda reminds me of Puke by Hidetake Takayama for some reason
It felt a little too like you were trying to sound like you weren't trying for me desu.
I'd say to take it into a more twee-pop Beat Happening/Tiger Trap kinda direction personally
Just uploaded a collection of my best songs that seemed to fit together. holler and give opinions.
>computers, synth, hella samples, etc.
>i dont know the genre..
This is an acoustic version of a very shoegazey song I'm working on. I finished writing the actual tune just now. I'm really proud of this one, give it a listen if you want!
