they were a good mainstream band to have around. nothing too interesting and the lyrics could be corny at times but chris martin has a nice falsetto and they knew how to play very pleasant rock/pop music. too bad they went to shit

eeh now that I think of it In Rainbows sounds more like Ok Computer than to Parachutes but its a great album nonetheless and you should listen to it.

maybe The Bends is more suited to what you are looking for. or check out other Britpop albums, they have a similar feel
