I finally checked this out a couple days ago. Followed the instructions and was surprised at how good it was. It sounds like nothing else Ive ever heard in hip hop, and that's why it gets a lot of negative, as well as positive reactions. Most people want rap that sounds good but sounds like what theyre used to hearing. Angry Kid just sounds like it has no respect for anything that came before it, and it's uniqueness turns a lot of people off. I can appreciate anything this different from the status quo and I think that 10 years from now it has the potential to be looked back on as a classic. Also Illmatic was ok but very overrated, even for an old album. It just isnt that great.

both of these albums are based around a certain aesthetic that not resonate with you. they both have a unique portrayal of urban life and all of them are from queens too. anyways, they style might just not be your thing and thats fine. that being said, i have listened to a huge amount of hip hop and illmatic and the infamous are honestly among the best. they best have very well crafted beats and have very skilled rappers on them. the style is authentic and the lyrics are very vivid. I get lost in these two albums more than most albums in general, even outside of hip hop
