I'm depressed and my life is shit.
So any music I listen to a lot and really like ends up soaking up this negativity, which means that I when I listen to it after a few months I end up being reminded of how shit I felt and still feel.
Anyone else get this? Or have any music which is immune to this effect?
Maybe you should be more concerned with changing the parts of your life that are making you depressed instead of trying to find more music to consume.
not trying to be a dick, just trying to save you from an inevitable suicide.
Fuck that listen to music that rhymes with your mood, as it's actually meant to channel and soak up those emotions.
Pretending to feel something or surrounding yourself with feelings that you can't identify with is a surefire way to feel lost and alone.
This album will help cheering you up ~
Be happy anon
Life are beautiful, just go outside and see how beautiful the sky are, with beautiful formations of clouds ~ or watch how the sunlight shines on a green leaf ~
Life are full with beauty, you just need to notice it being there ~
I've noticed the times in my life I'm depressed I listen to a lot more modest mouse. Only the old shitty sounding albums, though. Not the new hipster as fuck modest mouse. That shit is over produced.

Don't think, do. Just do.
It seems hard but it's really not.
My advise is to listen to negative music that rhymes with your mood.
Don't try to make your feelings disappear. You have them because your brain and body are trying to tell you something. You should strive to integrate the negative emotions with yourself. Own them.
It's impossible to purge yourself of X type of emotion if you're not a sociopath who doesn't have them to begin with. Integrate. Allow. Accept.
Your emotions are true and valid but they aren't the way you'll always feel. Yin yang.
Use this. Go to the gym 6 times a week (2 days for each). If you are fat, run at least 4 days a week, I would recommend not running on leg days.
>Listen to hip hop
Not OP. But listen to black illeterate people who gets more money and girls for being horrible personas than me just gonna make me more depressed.
find music that matches your mood. after that find an album that is slightly happier and keep doing this until you start feeling normal. changing the mood to quick could make you feel worse. im a psychology major.
You don't make sadness go away by trying to go around it, it'll just follow you. You have to get through it and reach the other side to leave it behind. You can only lose when you're in denial.
Happiness is a function of your environment, your past experiences and your attitude.
Each one is important to for happiness and most of the time if one is lacking the others can compensate.
If two are bad, like say your environment and your past, your amazing attitude is not going to stop you being unhappy. If it does your probably insane.
