>I left treatment a year and a half ago, and I've had more relapses and episodes than I could even count. This record is still very, very much where I'm at. There are a million things out there every single day that trigger me—songs, smells, even the season that we're in, fall. Something about the air. I left rehab in January and relapsed within hours of getting home. I just remember the smell of the air. I'll never ever forget that for the rest of my life.
how much longer do you think this guy's got? how much of the hate directed toward him do you think is valid?
Is that picture like a joke edit (ala Bredan Fraser on /tv/) or does he really look like that?
He looks like vomit personified or the shopping bag lady who lives in the bad part of my town.
I wouldn't be surprised if that picture's legit.
Heroin really fucks your shit up.
it'll be studio lights on his face most likely. he's been looking incredibly rough the past year when compared to the early days.
He doesn't even look that bad in the second picture. His skin has actually cleared up a bit. The lighting just makes him look paler and he's not smiling. Other than that, he looks veritably great.
Huh, I need to try me some of this "heroin". Thanks Anon!
You're all fucking idiots.
>He doesn't look that bad.
His eyes are sunken, and even though he doesn't have any noticeable marks, his skin looks pretty shitty. He's 26 in that pic, but he looks easily 10+ years older.
even junkies have more self-respect than to admit that to anyone besides family, other junkies, or their sponsor.
LEWIS: Do you ever think about going back to treatment?
90% dead man, knowing personally the world of recovery, it's not going to happen on your own. that's someone giving up on themselves or at least deluding themselves into believing they can help themselves out after doing so much damage. i wish him luck either way.
>Pitchfork broke the story, which is ironic because I was there playing a Pitchfork event. When I was in jail, I didn't know who would be in the area, so I wrote some of my friends—well, not friends, but people I knew who worked at Pitchfork—and asked them to help bail me out so I could play the show and go on with my life. And that made them privy to the story. I felt like it was a low blow, for them to just cover it for clicks. But I don't blame them. In the end, I'm responsible for my own actions.
that's honestly pretty shitty of whoever at p4k did that
Most people who quit do so own their own, basically. The thing is, they never show up in the studies about recovery because they were never part of the system.
Anyhow, most programs have a ridiculously high relapse rate - like 90% - something you know damn well yourself if you've been through the recovery grinder
>it's a diverse record, it is a happy record, a sad record, a happysad, sadhappy, mad, glad, quiet, mad, dark, glad, poppy, fast, slow, heavy, fast, peaceful, angry, chaotic, beautiful, lost/found, ugly, dry, wet, fuck, fast, dead, heartbroken, in love, loud, quiet, loud, loudquiet, quietloud, happy, mad, quiet, fuck, and loud record.
I hope he dies
Smoking isn't back though, more college students today smoke weed than nicotine https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2015/09/01/college-students-are-now-smoking-more-pot-than-cigarettes/
Heroin is just one of those things that will be good enough to always be in the background but too dangerous to ever be in the spotlight
Did it once. Felt fucking amazing.
Imagine that one orgasm that you never forgot.
Now imagine that orgasm 100x
Now imagine that there's dicks all over your body and they're all cumming with that 100x mega orgasm.
That's how it feels.
I guess it felt really good for cause I have never taken any drugs. no cigs no alcohol. I was 20. this was 3 years ago. Never did it again, though I did crave it.
>make a bunch of forgettable generic shogaze music
>no one remembers
Needs to take some advice from uncle henry
>Most people who quit do so own their own, basically. The thing is, they never show up in the studies about recovery because they were never part of the system.
how do you know about them then?
henry made more memorable music and was part of the original hardcore scene, thats some fucking history m8.
No will remember this fucking junkie cuck if he dies
DUDE OMG I DID HEROIN AND IT WAS A HARD TIME FOR MY LIFE I WAS WRONG I MSSED UP I HAD A HARD LIFE I WAS ADDICTEDI AM SO TROUBLD NO ONE GETS ME !!!
>grew up rich
>no real job
>getting hooked on heroin with friends
>make mediocre """indie""" music
>unwashed tumblr masses like it
>wah my life is hard :'(((
Fuck him so much i fucking hate this piece of shit and his rich gang of entitled faggots who don't have an iota of an idea what its like to work a real job or live with trauma. I can't believe people like him and bands like DIIV get so much media attention
>my new record is about my hard times on drugs and relapsing brahh its really emotional and from the heart this time
> one song is about my cokehead junkie whore gf who broke into the music industry the same way i did
fuck off you worthless cunt. you are nothing
yes im mad
hope it's at least a bit more similar to Singles. I was really disappointed to hear album versions of Things I Do For Love and URL and Foliage says there's TIDFL part II on the new one
The hardcore scene was straight edge, the whole philosophy was to say fuck you drug worshiping hippie hipster faggots.
And henry is doing the right thing and finding other things to do instead of being an old man trying to live his glory days
this is the best description i have found:
this is a fifteen year old edgelord who has never done heroin, good god that description was cringey.
>And henry is doing the right thing and finding other things to do instead of being an old man trying to live his glory days
His other thing is just ranting, the most cliche old man thing. Dying young would have made him cool forever.
this. at least Kurt Cobain's heroin addiction was fueled by suicidal depression stemming from a shitty childhood. this diiv guy did it because he's a fucking idiot who didn't know the consequences. and he's too stupid to make art out of his pain so it's not even worth anything
>I can't believe people like him and bands like DIIV get so much media attention
That's because indie music press these days consists entirely of masturbation.
The rich little shits who can afford to move to Brooklyn have no sense of desperation or intelligence to create truly meaningful music, so they'll posture and pretend to be deep and indulge in drugs while they'll make empty little interviews for fellow spoilt journalists who migrated to the big city.
It's an endless regurgitation of worthless ideas worshipping people that were actually underground at one time and had the drive to make it.
It's all the dirtiness involved with underground music being usurped and twisted inside out by big media pimps and their whores.
Are you serious? Henry was a hack who coasted completely on the success of others. He's never done anything original or creative.
Dev's a cool guy, leave him alone.
Zach is an idiot living out a romantic rock star fantasy, and I hope he finds a batch laced with Fentanyl to make that come true for the spoiled little brat.
To follow up.
Kurt Cobain is dead, and Zach is a moron with no personality or talent of his own for trying to be him.
Even when Kurt was alive he'd bitch about people imitating him, wearing his clothes, trying to look like him. All incredibly creepy.
holy shit i thought it was just a meme to call him a kurt wannabe
he even trys to imitate his voice. this is fucking embarassing. this faggot is 31? jesus
I actually kind of like DIIV. I really wanted to see them when they stopped by Carborro in November, but I saw Deafheaven the weekend before and I thought that two three hour drives to Carborro were just way too much. But the members of the band...man, I don't hate Zachary at all, but I have a slight feeling that he's trying his hardest to be Kurt Cobain, you know? I just get that vibe from him - tall, blond, does heroin, plays guitar/sings, really chill, etc. The fact that their drummer recently quit due to crippling heroin addiction makes me wonder if anyone else in or associated with the band is doing drugs, though. I'd say if he keeps this shit up, he's going to be dead by the end of the decade.
Devin is cool though. I really hope he isn't fucking himself up though, because he was fucking awesome during those AMAs and answered every question I asked, and I asked like 4. If Dev's in this thread, just stay clean, dude. /mu/ still loves you <3
the only people who think drugs make you better are idiots who have never created a piece of art in their lives, did you watch montage of heck?
Kurt was bursting with creativity from youth, he would make paintings and write songs constantly.
Kurt was going to be a good artist and musician off and on drugs.
This hipster faggola zach has never made anything interesting in his life and will die a junkie husk
Exactly, you're entire post is gold.
Zack may as well have tried to dig up Kurt's bones and inject them or something equally weird and totemic.
You won't get talent from doing heroin, you'll just get pain.
>I've never identified as a man. I've always either felt like a boy or something else.
god, he wants to be kurt cobain so fucking bad
too bad he doesn't realize kurt was joking and just another small town punk kid trying to get laid by riot grrls
Fuck this band and fuck this rich kid who just wanted to be a rock star.
At least he finally gets to face some actual problems, even if they're self inflicted, before he dies.
Diiv only has one decent song too and it's Doused.
Everything else is a meh attempt at shoegaze and wah wah muh heroin
>all of your druggie friends just sit around and shoot up all day
>the rest are either dead or too burnt out to do anything other than collect welfare and hate themselved
>no one to take psychs with anymore
I miss my trippin buddies.
this patently untrue. drugs wont give you talent but they will give you different experiences and many talented people gain insights from that that they might not have otherwise. Also, have you every done drugs? there are many of them that make it easier to focus and make all sorts of details in music more noticeable.
He should just go ahead and die so then Is The Who When What can get a pity sorrow 10 BNM on P4K and create 2010s dead celebrity "OMG WE LOVED HIM SO MUCH!" And then gives us 10 releases of Oshin Deluxe Special Remastered Edition with never heard demons and a documentary with Sky Crying about how much of a great guy he was when we know he was a useless junkie.
This. Except add these other fucking morons.
