Actual GOAT underground album. Unbelievable production/aesthetic and Koopsta has amazing flow.
well you could start with other Three 6 Mafia-affiliated albums. Anything DJ Paul and Juicy J produced, and then check out DJ Zirk's underworld maybe. Hope the image helps a little
memphis rap is garbage and only despicable white trash, niggers, and hipster weebs listen to it
>white trash, niggers, and hipster weebs
what, do you listen to music made by patrician mexican people?
Listen to pic related and everything this guy produced.
I miss it too.. and BOOTY.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U0zro-TAEM favorite tape so far, DJ Sound is one of the greatest
This 1 is coming out pretty soon, it was suppose to be released in 2001 but it never came out on Street Smart Recs. The world needs more Mac T Dog.
yeah i saw tommy post it on FB
didn't know any of it was out yet so nice
he also says that behind closed doors is finally coming out too but he's been saying that forever now so who knows if its true or not
also did the two faced album on pic related ever come out cause i can't find jack shit about it anywhere else
also while your at it try and find this
i guess some of it was on skinny and dangerous but not a lot it seems since most of that is from pimps and robbers
theres a few places around memphis and nashville that might have some oldschool memphis rap, as far as local music stores go.
We lost a lot in the past 10 years or so. but i know plenty of people in North and South Memphis that might have something on them.
damn too bad, right when he could have broke a little too
yeah i from what i heard pic related was a huge place but got closed down awhile back
yeah it sucks, the internet really fucked everything up but it was a mixed blessing in a way because the music ineveitably reached a much wider audience
damn this is cool
i liked his first album so its cool to see he's got some more
to talk about atmosphere OP...
..anyone else love this song? its my favorite off any their underground remaster compilations
yeah. absolutely. if i just bought half of the shit ive downloaded. i know i could keep at least two stores afloat. but at the same time. i wouldnt have been exposed to most of this shit.
lol makes me wonder who the first DJ in memphis was to sample Ike's Mood. that sample is on Mama said Knock you out and maybe something else like an EPMD or D-Nice album, but as soon the memphis DJs heard the piano line they were probably all on that b/c Ike's from memphis and its the perfect thing to jook out to when snares are put on top of it
it could have been this track maybe, its the earliest one off the top of my head:
i feel like a lot of the spooky halloween stuff comes from this track too:
either way 93 was a huge year for memphis
oh yeah man, those are some hard songs. I'm sure Spanish Fly was spinning it all the time before anyone recorded to it. this is a dope fucking video too
damn nice video
al posted one on facebook of him at some high school talent show with him ball & mjg and it is insane, they're all dressed in church clothes and at one point all the kids start chanting "ORANGE MOUND AINT BARRIN THAT SHIT"
honestly i can't even imagine that situation in real life
Al Kapone - Sinista Funk
DJ Squeeky - Summer Mix 95
Snubnoze - Pimp 4Ever
and all the 3 6 tapes of course
is it just me or is there no copy of ashes 2 ashes that has the same tracklist as what's printed on the og tape?
