Need Feedback on new song, Let me know what you think, any advice just trying to reach a bigger audience for my music, I recently moved from NYC to Cedar Rapids, IA due to finding better living for my child but the music scene is nothing here like NYC Any advice or help is appreciated: follow me on soundcloud for more music:
A tad bit repetitive but Molo did a great job on this, as did you
Reminds me somewhat of the new Kendrick
this is nice, your vocals are really smooth and the beat was really chill
(OLD soundcloud, this one reached upload limit: https://soundcloud.com/somelittleboyinblue)
>lo-fi, acoustic "bedroom pop," influences include daniel johnston, beach house, ween's first few albums, mac demarco, sebadoh, and olivia tremor control

Would greatly appreciate some feedback.
This sounds fantastic! Sounds like Toe. Awesome.
So abstract - what am I listening to!?
Very nice lo-fi.
Folky as hell!
This reminds of Atoms For Peace a bit. Good!
Experimental indeed - Xenakis-esque.
back from school!
>phase1.0 (give me a rating between 1 and 10)
brand new track with Lord Apex! feedback would be greatly appreciated and returned on SC.
>lyrical rap/hip-hop/dope flows/experimental
just finished listening to IDG2F, and i think it's good.
the beat work is great, but it's honestly a little lacking. i know it's hypocritical saying that somethings repetitive, but it's just that one loop over and over again. i'm not really a lyrics person, i don't mind them but i'm almost always indifferent towards them, but your flow is nice.
thank you. your stuff's pretty great as well
>with rap influence
posted my 2nd track today, let me know what ya think

Will return feedback. If you have the time, consider giving some constructive feedback about the mastering of the track and I'll do the same.
I began making beats a couple months ago
I use maschine, logic, macbook pro and a turntable.
I respond to critiques comment and feedback!
this is me
I listened to Ballad Of The Goddess. Loved all the strings and the guitar tone an the vocals were lovely. Definitely had a LoZ feel, kinda Windwaker-y. I thought the track was mixed really well, you have a good sense in knowing what to emphasize when.
>electronic, instrumental hip hop, fuzzy, scifi
now that I have your attention
check out this previously beautiful and intricate track that I brickwalled literally hours ago at the behest of /mu/
it sure is loud though
help I forgot to actually post the track
I leave the constructed criticism here and give you some positive vibes on your track.
I feel that your vocals are off pitch with the rest of the track. The percussion is all over the place. I can respect it if it for being experimental but I feel that if you want to go into this direction there should be way more disarray.
Try bouncing your tracks and play around with filters in your daw. I'd say you have too much treble in your track, try and lower it just a little bit to allow people to up the volume a little bit.
The track is really nicely layered though.
Not a single instrument is fighting with another one on the spectrum and they all come out quite clear.
will return feedback
>Progressive/Symphonic Black Metal
Latest composition of mine (solo project). It incorporates a few Classical music elements and a few early Norwegian Black Metal feels.
Looking for feedbacks/comments/criticisms, all of which I will return.

kempers - Ocha (お茶)
its nice, pretty calm for a noise song
thanks, i like your music too :^)
the usual recs
i wish i hadnt taken so long to check out your stuff, really digging it
vocals remind me a little bit of Damon Albarn when he's doing his 2D voice on Gorillaz, but lazier. what the fuck happened after minute 2 though ? different vocalist ? instrumentation is interesting
first one this year
it sounds like I need to quit drinking.
>two new tracks
>electro house, EDM<
this is a track I just finished and uploaded. It's downtempo, but I guarantee it's probably unlike any EDM track you have heard before
I'm not sure if that's a good thing and I'd seriously love some feedback here!
Also, here, have a Calvin & Hobbes wallpaper for your troubles
>trap, fashion rap
lol, here's me, always trying to make everything complicated.
still the stuff on your page is incredibly dope, I really like the "Mod" track. I'm not as big a fan of "covering the shadows" but I still think the sound design is really cool; just not my brand of music
My latest track
I still have no idea what is the name for what I'm doing.
Since I'm so late to the thread, I am going to dump this here:

by sight. post good graphics!
Other thread died out for no fucking reason. I was listening to your first track.
>Disclaimer -- I know jackshit about EDM
I really like the pop-in phased synths and how the track is carried out by the hi-hat gallops. I also dig the square-lead in the background, it sounds like some old 16-bit era melody.
To answer your previous quesiton (other thread) about synthetic guitars, it is Shreddage 2 (un-amped guitar patch VST) used with Guitar Rig 5 (amp) and with some reverbs.. which make it sound (mostly) seamless.
this is me
this is great, followed. listened to tone's melody and you have great flow and the beat really draws me in.
for context i don't normally listen to EDM but this was a fun beat, totally dance-able :) liked the little synth melody
tfw sitting on a few tracks but idk if I should put them out or just put out le mixtape so I can finally send stuff to people.
tfw working on some experimental as fuck rap shit
tfw non of your music is cohesive

ANOTHER NEW TRACK! If you like Tortoise, Talk Talk, Miles Davis. Alice Coltrane, Can, and Talking Heads, you might dig this. One of the more ambitious and ambient tracks I've created. Would love feedback, cheers x
>Dat tarp kek
Remix I did of CHVRCHES Clearest Blue. Feedback would be greatly appreciated!!
My very first remix I did a while ago of Washed Out - Belong
Acoustic singer/songwriter demo shit
everything was done in audacity and you can probably tell
I'm massively jealous of the fact that you have a good voice. But you definitely need to learn to properly mix and apply effects using real production software. Or get someone to do it for you. Audacity is great to get your feet wet, but is overall ass.
Nobody will listen to you playing some acoustic guitar rhythms, otherwise I'd be famous. You can definitely sing, and you definitely should continue to put stuff out. I'd kill to be able to sing.
Hey thanks for the input man! your response got totally buried in the thread hahah, I just now saw it. But yeah that square wave "droplet" is one of my favorite synths, I'm actually quite proud of it, despite the fact it was pretty easy to make. Glad you enjoyed!
I'll have to check out that shreddage patch, I've been dying for a way to lay down decent guitar licks without having to record them myself (because I'm bad)
What DAW did you use to arrange Descent in to Madness?
nothing rly just a lil bass not much working on more later
I use FruityLoops 10 to use VST's and I slave Reason 4.0 (I know it's really outdated) for synths and orchestration. Not much effects in there (not even compressed...) jsut some good ol' black metal reverb.

sample based cloud beats or whatever
keep it up, on the right path
nah bruh. nerd rap.
>instrumental hip hop
Just a couple new songs out, remix and an original. Feedback appreciated and returned on soundcloud
So I make shitty rap beats and goofy rap tracks using hardware that I have picked up over the last year.
I write lies about everything and tell stories when I can.
I don't do this to make some statement. I do it because I genuinely enjoy it. If I laugh or make someone else smile, then I've succeeded at my goal.
>Pic related is the heart of my setup. I got it for $25 at a flea market
moody jazz-influenced hip hop track. Got more creative with sampling on this one.
>PiL inspired post-punk
>sad girl lyrics
>becoming the void core
Bit late, been absent for awhile working on shit and being drowned in schoolwork. Doing a music video for one of my school projects though, released the song today to ask for feedback.First time modulating my voice so I'm pretty curious about what people think :3
>Experimental nonsensical angstyish Hip Hop
>Will return feedback on both SC and here :)
>Notice me pls
You want my feedback? Everyone here sucks and doesn't know music very well.
You guys don't understand that you have to LIVE the music. You fucking white boys in your pajamas piddlin your drum machines don't understand the anger. The PAIN. That is life.
Check this tune. It's real, because I feel.
#onetribe #postpunk #theanswer
I'm using clyp.it because I don't want this on my soundcloud yet
Surpised by how much I like this, you have a good tone. You capture an atmosphere very well here too.
I dig this, next part is adding in either some other element or vocals or whatever. It feels unresolved to me as this is
heh fun I like it
Has atmosphere and a darkness to it that is rare to find. My suggestion is for the clap starting around 1:11 to change the sound to something else. Think about like at the beginning of An Eagle In Your Mind how the drums finally come in after so many minutes, you want your drum beat that comes in to be dramatic as well, don't you? Making the beat into something either dirtier or maybe even less of a snare-type beat (sorry don't know this kind of terminology) and maybe more like a bass/tom-type sound, but still with the "click" that snares have (again don't know the terminology so I'm just using terms from a drum set).
Woah, interesting, I like it, this would sound so much better if some of these beats were less stock-grade sounding. For the sound this has it would sound better if this wasn't so "clear" sounding, honestly.
I guess you realize your mic doesn't match that of the music's?
I like this.
It could be mastered a hell of a lot better, but until I can afford monitors, I have to make do with my shitty headphones.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated <333
bruv I can't tell if you're good or not lol, I think you may have hit on something with your style but dude you gotta get some mic control, I am so sorry for >>61494286 , having to mix and fuck with that vocal track. Stand back from your mic man. Those percussive sounds that you have coming through are just un-fuck-wittable as a mix engineer.
Also your vocals are too far forward in the mix in the tracks you mixed yourself, you're gonna have the most luck and I think be personally the most happy with your own development as a CAKE-style artist where you blend your voice with the backing instrumentation.
>trap, rap, edm trap, witch house, dubstep
idk i just like making music
I'm still gonna listen, but now I have no idea what to expect!
Honestly, it's just the fact that my mic is straight trash lol. I need to save up for a better microphone, thaks for the feedback though :D I'm most likely going to be rerecording this and making it better. >>61494286 just gave me the instrumental, I'm the one who mixed it, modulated it, and attempted to make my trash voice somewhat more listenable. maybe I should let the producer fuck with my vocals a bit more cause I'm not really well trained in it yet
Relaxing beat, nice clean vocals, production quality is great, wish the bass had hit my sub a little more though.
Score :Fuck this shit/I don't give 2 fucks.
Same with me dude. The only thing that has ever made me jizz in terms of rapping is Tip hop, and even then, that only does it for me because it works so well with the music. I can say though, listened to your tune twice with fresh ears and yeah...The vocals are on point. Well pronounced, too!
Keep on fucking smashing it mate!
You should probably put an into on this track you know. Soundcloud jewbots traul the uploads to find copyrighted content and they remove pretty much anything that flags up in their system. You may consider it a remix, but they just call it illegal.
Other than that though, this is fucking dope
Very much appreciated my dude. Keeping the vocals popping and understandable is something I have to work hard on because of all the ideas I throw out in my shit so I'm glad you mentioned the pronunciation.
check out my bud's remix of a lil jam i put together:
he's more so into trap, I'm more into alt and trip hop, but we both listen to almost anything
I'm trying some abstract ambient clout-chill-trap beats...
Rate me please.
I like that, expecially the melodic variations on the 808 bass.
Whn you said "dark trap" I expected someting more agressive and moody. It is someway too pop. But it have some great parts. I liked it anyway.
>Drum & Bass
The ultimate goal is to sound as unique as possible and to not compromise flavour for DJ-readiness. Currently listening and providing constructive criticsm where applicable.
Cheers bud, glad you enjoyed my shit.
Love the enthusiasm my dude. Follow me up or hit me with a message. I get a lot of colab offers and haven't taken any up yet, but if I ever really wanna get the ball rolling I'ma get back to everyone.
You need to get working on sound design. Your tracks sound like something put together with presets and sample packs. The ideas are there, but they're masked by novice-level production skills.
I'll try again:
Production quality on the posted track is good, wasn't really my kind of thing to listen to though, knew I had to check out your channel.
FVS - NÃO SE ASSUSTE is FIRE.
Keep up the good work man.
I literally have a track on my SC called "i wish i was Dave Tipper"
it was just a sketch of some stuff I was doing, basically trying to copy the creaking sound off Peripherals from his EP Fathoms and the bubbly sound from the likes of Snot Rocket/Ambergris
it's set to private tho, because I am not Dave Tipper
it was definitely an interesting experiment and I am for sure going to come back to that creaking sound and see if I can't pin it down
Oh mate he's honestly one of the reasons I got into producing. Of course, my music is fucking shit in comparison, and I'm really inconsistent with what I make, but I do have some tunes up on soundcloud if you wanna hear?
is me mate
props to you, I didn't even learn about Tipper until I'd been making EDM for a little over half a year
I will never forget the day that my best friend got me baked as fuck, sat me down in his car, and blasted the fuck out of Peripherals for me. I think I knew almost immediately he was the best on the scene. I had not had my mind blown like that since the first time someone showed me Pretty Lights' Finally Moving Remix
Dude, thanks for the feedback. I gotta say, I think you're totally right about the dnb tune. The basslines are muddy and the hats are too thrashy. desu that was the second track I ever made, and I've came along fucking lightyears since then, but I keep it to remind me how much I've improved. Thank you very much though dude, proper solid feedback.
so bruv, I will not lie, the breakcore shit threw me. Those drums are a bit much for me
that glitch hop track is FUCKING dope as shit though, I need to make me a tape-stop bass
^^^^This. I dig the shit out of this.^^^^
Thank you for the feedback. ( >>61503832 here)
I will use ur cat track in my next live set, It is very cool.
Thanx. FVS - NÃO SE ASSUSTE is a repost. I helped my friend a little to make this tune, but not really mine, I just supporting post-funk and related.
Here's my new Alternative R&B track called "Worth It". It has some Toronto vibes, over "trappier" production than what I've previously done. I appreciate you guys taking the time to listen!
This has gotten a pretty good response, hopefully some of you like it too.
I return all feedback!
Also I'm rinsing your feed now...I'm majorly feeling rep mate. Fucking brilliant and the production quality is on point.
Haha yeah man no worries, I totally get it. Breakcore isn't exactly easy listening, ever. I started making that tune on 650ug of LSD so even I don't really know what I was thinking, but I do like a bit of breakcore. Thank you so much for the feedback though mate, I'm actually made up with that.
Shoot me a DM if you manage to get a recording of your set. I'm very interested to hear how it fits in with other material. I've never written anything like "Mind the Cat" before so I'm stoked that you enjoyed it. Thanks.
Hum... I don't used to record when I play. I'm shy :3, but if, I i'll sent you.
And... How do you think I must use the limiter? Just put it on the master or in some specific element? I don't like much using limiter in the master for don't plate too much the mix and turn up sounds that i want low...
Yeah, I meant limiting on the master. I get that you want to preserve details and that's still very possible even with master limiting. Bouncing stuff straight out of your DAW can leave it feeling a little un-hinged without some level of mastering being done afterwards. Just my opinion.
Going over the limiting/mastering process in detail isn't something I'm prepared to do right now, sorry. You can find lots of advice articles online to get you started, but that's something you need to do on your own time.
Hm, I understand... Thank you anyway, bro.
I have a very sitty processig capacity here... Everything is clipping and glitching before I export the audio, If i mastering, I have to do it in a blind way. So... Someday I will take my tracks to a studio.
>singer song writer
>nobody fucking listens to acoustic shit anymore
Just bring a friend with a DSLR and an hour to kill to a show and get them to take action pictures of the group. You'll find some stuff in there that'll suffice as header/cover art. Give them a few bucks and drinks for their services and you're good.
