Les Discrets - Live at Roadburn
Did anyone else here buy the LSD and the Search for God tape that was released a couple months back? It sounds fine as far as cassettes go, but I feel like the quality doesn't really do anything good for the ep. I mean, it's unfitting for LSD's sound. They have this sort of sleek, glossy guitar tone that no other shoegaze band has, so it seriously stood out from all the other heavily distorted stuff for me. The cassette pressing making it fuzzy wasn't the best for the EP cause of this. Does anyone else have thoughts on it?
Starflyer 59 - Americana
>Shoegaze, Indie Rock, Slowcore,
>Opinion on new DIIV
I liked it, it was enjoyable to listen to, though it sounded kind of lazy at a few points, not much has changed in their sound. If you like Oshin you'll like this.
Les Discrets have a cool feeling to them that I haven't found in many other bands. The French blackgaze sound is distinctive, and they are perhaps the best example of it. Kind of folky and grim without being "heavy".
This anon that was afraid to go alone might be going.
Also just a general question for shugazi. When a band has even a slight amount of shoegaze and a guy says hey this sounds like mbv, do you guys die a little bit inside? Like i get that shoegaze is kinda of a niche genre but the fact that literally most of the people can only mind to compare something to loveless...I dont know if that happens on any other genre really.
Japanese stuff is pretty well known. Pretty much all that's talked about here is Japanese + Western stuff. I don't know anything about the Taiwanese gaze. Any recs from there? Sounds very interesting.
We Save Strawberries, Boyz & Girl, TuT, Sloth Scamper, then there's Bad Daughter who are less shoegaze and more Painful-era Yo La Tengo.
TuT and Sloth Scamper are both on Bandcamp, the former two are a lot harder to track down but last I checked they were on Spotify. You might have to use their mandarin names though which you can find on RYM.
Then for China you have Dear Eloise, White Tulips
Should have used a different word.
Human - Diiv
Pretender - Winter
Us Now - Them Are Us Too
Ones I can think of from the top of my head. Human has a really sunny feeling to it that I like.
You've probably heard of most of these but I'll try anyway:
Astrobrite - Crush
The Ecstasy of Saint Theresa - Sussurate
Borax - Ballistic
Pinkshinyultrablast - Happy Songs for Happy Zombies
ALSO this is not shoegaze at all but you would probably enjoy this if you're looking for that comfy lo fi sound.
voices from deep below - eunoia
loved this album when it came out a few months ago.
Haha I can definitely see that, their styles are pretty similar. I really wish Tweens had produced their actual album like this; the demos are much more exciting than the final product imo
Fleeting Joys - Despondent Transponder (2006) [Flac, Japanese edition with 2 extra tracks]
>Shoegaze, dream-pop, the closest you will ever get to My Bloody Valentine.
Here is the entire Creation Soup if anybody wants it.
I think shugazi will get going more once some decent releases come out this year.
Gonna go check them out now.
Anyone else here listen to my pic related anymore? It used to be posted around here, over a year ago.
Botanist - VI: Flora
This isn't purely shoegaze, but it's huge sounding, I love the dulcimer.
Woah, first time i've seen anyone mention We Save Strawberries here, still can't find their first album but I rec their other two for anyone interested in taiwanese music. You can find more TW stuff on https://tw.streetvoice.com/ also.
Yeah, its on there albeit in 128kbs. I'm really digging their more recent release so far so I'd probably end up grabbing this anyway. I can upload it for you if you don't mind the quality.
Link me to a bandcamp or something. Here's the kind of stuff I'm playing. Not organized yet or whatever but a general sense.
youd obviously have to be really sad and spiteful to make a post like that. its not the kind of thing an emotionally aware person would do, its the actions of a damaged or somehow deficient mind. it might help if you took a look at yourself and examined your motives for doing it. I can understand if you dont want to talk about it here, nobody likes to talk about what a horrible place their head is in this kind of environment. but if its ever going to get better in there introspection is the first step.
you are literally an autistic loser. a clueless bitch with no friends. these posts are laughably bad and evidence of a deeply fucked up heart and soul. i unironically, without a single shred of hyperbole pity every single person who is forced to interact with you on a daily basis. you're a miserable motherfucker.
Deafcult - Self titled
>shoegaze / dream pop / Whirrship
Sweater Season - Self titled
>shoegaze / emo
>ffo new Turnover and Title Fight
Sianspheric - Somnium
>Dream Pop, Shoegaze,
We Save Strawberries - Solar System
>Shoegaze, Taiwan, bretty gud
>128kbps, it's a rare album and this is the only bitrate I've been able to find (courtest of slsk)
The Brian Jonestown Massacre - My Bloody Underground
I saw glowing reviews on Louderthanwar (good) and The 405 (shite) after searching.
But yeah, less than 200 fb likes and on a label with barely more... not good.
Fuck shugazi is doooooooooooomed
Anyone heard of Our Girl?
More dream/noise pop I guess
Bumping for Blackgaze.
If anyone could share Deer Twilight or Planning For Burial, I would suck your digital cock.
Any shares of things that aren't marked out in this picture would be appreciated as well.
Asobi Seksu - Asobi Seksu
>Shoegaze, Dream Pop,
XO - Heart
>Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Surf Rock, Emo,
Cool article, agree with lots of points but I really feel like they could have picked other artists than Deafheaven and Ulrich Schnauss for the most original nu-gazers, like a sunny day in glasgow or the angelic process
I know this isn't really shoegaze, but there's no /spacerock/ or /slowcore/
Can we talk about this beautiful thing here?
Do you guys like it?
>I mean I haven't heard the album but I still feel it's a shame that amazing cover is wasted on that kind of music.
Why are you making these kind of judgements on albums you haven't heard? That's stupid as shit.
Exactly. It is perfect for duster.
Obviously Earth 2 comes to mind as well when I see that cover. It's much different, but similar in the sense that it's minimalistic, slow.
What are we listening to right now?
