Here's my new Alternative R&B track called "Worth It". It has some Toronto vibes, over "trappier" production than what I've previously done. I appreciate you guys taking the time to listen!
This has gotten a pretty good response, hopefully some of you like it too.

>making mostly trap. no any particular subgenre (inspired by a lot of stuff, from classical music to trillwave)
check this out if interested
The song is pretty cool ! But you need a better mixdown in my opinion
Here's what I would do:
Drums->Tighter low end with sidechain on instrumens to hit harder
Guitar riff-> Less midbass -> needs air
Bass -> hidden in a bass soup ?
Snare-> Needs more punch and less reverb
Some instruments are like hidden you should really use complementary eq !
Great song anyway
Trippy but too much compession and distortion on the master bus
Is that wanted ?
Nice and clean
distortion: the song
It's not ambiant if it got regular kick drums
it's more like techno
I feel a bit tired by the distorted instrument (guitar?)
You should really try something different next time
I listened to a few track of yours it's a whole unique style but I would make more breaks
Like the style
Nice filtering intro
Slowly building the vibes.jpg
I would add drum rolls
But I'm impressed
Nice drop but I would make something more aggresive of that chorus because the song got the vibe for that
Also 2minutes before the drop is pretty long
Epic song ! Message me if you want mroe feedback
You might like my wip too:
I'm returning all feedback and follows.
(OLD soundcloud, this one reached upload limit: https://soundcloud.com/somelittleboyinblue)
>lo-fi, acoustic "bedroom pop," influences include daniel johnston, red house painters (down colorful hill), ween's first few albums (mostly pure guava + the pod), mac demarco, sebadoh, and olivia tremor control
Because I release the songs when they're finish so I can't make them public cause the label guys always touch something and don't want 10 different versions online
Also I'm a perfectionist and as much as I want to make a free dl there's always something that's not right for me. That's why I need the label guys in order to have some constructive feedback and consider my song finished
I have 55 tracks private with all the old stuff and got over the 3h upload limit haha
what's your soundcloud? I'll check it out and give u feedback
I usually review a lot of people on these threads except for ambient, noise and sometimes EDM tracks just cause I don't know much about them
>dub from neet era
>first chill tunes
>you neets are gonna like this
Here's the biggest part
yes please! I'm rerecording this track soon-ish so some mixing feedback would be appreciated. the biggest recommendations I've gotten previously was that the drums need to be more upfront and the guitars are too samesy but I'd love to hear what you would say
>haven't put anything on in it a while
>had a phase of inspiration
>this was while I was too busy to get to music
>now doing nothing
>don't want to continue with music
Guitars need a bit of panning and less effect on the chords
Pad is too strong imo. Try reducing high and low end
Drum are weak and need completive EQ with instruments and sidechain
They also don't really hit the low end which is what drum are supposed to do
I would make a copy and try different mixing setups if I was you
Don't hesitate to message me on soundcloud (Hedbangz) if you want my opinion on something. Maybe you should invest in a set of headphones to make a better use of eq and panning because instruments like that don't fit together unless you process
Exetremely good song btw
I already did but let's try again before I get high :P
toizleque: Kick is strong but no enough noticeable drums and in the end they wouldn't fit because of the guitar (too much distortion = too much odd frequency harmonics and difficult mix)
Kick is too weak. Lack of sidechain and no hit at 100-200Hz. Also the synths sound like there's no eq. You should really make some space with your eq to let the instruments mix together
Ex: Lower the high end synth around 500-700Hz and do the same for both synths under 300Hz to let you kick take some space
Lower the mid end synth around 1-6kHz to let some space
That's just an example that maybe won't sound great in itself but that's how you should proceed
If you want to thank me leave a comment or like my new track:
>Working on an album
>Might DIY a cassette release
middle eastern vibes
> experimental rock
Here's mine. Some meme-y songs, some racist songs, and some I-don't-even-know songs. There's some hip-hop, a post rock song, and some acoustic pop-y garbage.
>Kick is strong but no enough noticeable drums and in the end they wouldn't fit because of the guitar (too much distortion = too much odd frequency harmonics and difficult mix)
Thanks, that's actually really helpful. I only just started working with a mixer (I used to make all my songs in a tracker that didn't have any mixing tools). The only drums are the ones that sound like static so I really wanted those to fade into the background.
The instrument is a keyboard put through some pedals and a bunch of other digital filters. It was a very interesting sound to work with
You don't switch to digital for the mixing ?
You should really because you got 10000€ worth of hardware for free. That's endless posibilities and a cleaner approach for beginners.
For example you can't even compare an hardware eq without UI and these 10 band semi log modular eq you get in every DAW. It takes years to master the hardware when the software is way easier to learn.
Need more low end to me. Kick don't hit hard enough
Bass should be complementary with the kick and should really be noticed under 300Hz
Same drum problem
Piano is highpassed to high and also too bright
Kick get noticed only when others instruments stop
Something like a bass should really hit around 400-800Hz to fill the void
The guitar from the solo also needs some processing (too high at some freqs)
Want the sound of the future ?
Try phasing equalization and hardcore sidechain ! Then you try to setup your master bus compressor with a lower thresold and ratio to give a kaytranada-like tight vibe (you need to make the entire song with this setting)
When I say phasing equalization I talk about putting 2 NON-AUTOMATED phasers on 2 different instrument channels and on 2 frequencies that won't get in the way (200Hz and 300Hz) and then enjoy the automatic mixdown
It doesn't work by itself of course you still need to use the usual eq technics

thanks a bunch buddy! for both the suggestions and the compliments. I totally agree with everything you've put out there and it's extremely helpful. I'll make sure to save this somewhere so I can check back with it while I'm reworking it.
also, awesome track! really fun and dance-y.
thanks! yeah I definitely need to look into sidechaining. desu I've never done it on any of my tracks... I feel ashamed even if they're wip/demos.
the snare doesn't really fit, and is kind of abrupt. I would say to use a different make sure your instruments work well together next time, and to match them in terms of reverb, so they seem like they are in the same space. i really like the piano loop btw.
So apparently there are two SC threads? Already posted this in one, so I guess I'll post this in this one too.

Alright. As long as it's one of the listed genres, I'm game. Send it to my email when you're done.
Note: You can jump around in the mix. For Example, trance to tech house to tribal house to etc.
Just posted a song. Kept it simple. Tell me what you think:
hey boss cool stuff, I really dig Desert Treasure.
just one thing: in your latest few traacks I noticed it took a bit long to get into it, but when it did it was great. maybe shorten your intros? (just my personal thought, take it into consideration only if you'd like)
Just released an uplifting trance remix which has done fairly well.
Shitty psych folk.
Thanks for the tip. It's a habit, and a bad one at that. I like to ease into tracks first, then I lift off from there. I feel like people get bored by the intro, thus not listening to the best part(s). I'll take note of that, thanks.

New album out from yesterday, let us know what you think!
like the steamed chillies track. dj femboy sounds like someone had a good time
Made this a couple days ago. This is a really wierd project for me, because I'm a guitarist and violin player who's mainly into post- and math rock, so writing an entire song in 4/4 was a challenge. But I'm good friends with Astari (if anybody here's heard of him) and I started listening to Nothing, Nowhere's stuff and I thought hey, I can totally do this.
So this is what I came up with, give it a listen or whatever.
I never beg for followers unlike you faggots
Singer/Songwriter, Feedback very appreciated. I make weird glitchy beats and folk music, Grand.
