Confirmed for going through a too cool for metal phase. Just because you grow out of being a walking stereotype doesn't mean you have to stop listening to legitimately good music based on an entirely n0n-descriptive name it has been given. (Metal encompasses everything from catchy Eurovision singalongs to intangible 30 minute fuzzy experimental bedroom dirge loops.)

Although I was already listening to good artists like The Beatles and Black Sabbath when I was younger, I was a big nu-metal fan as well, which, not surprisingly, included Limp Bizkit in my roster of shitty taste.
That was followed by gangsta rap and dubstep. Fortunately, I left it all behind and developed better taste once I began high school.

Freshman andd sophomore year. I lest ended to full one white person core hip hop (hopsin, tech n9ne, OF, eminem) and just narrowly missed getting into scene gag tier metalcore (a7f and a couple of songs from other bands)

Junior year I found this place and I am now an 18 year old senior.

I went through a phase about a year ago of listening exclusively to deep house/future garage kind of music. I don't regret it, and still listen to it now and again, but I've gotten really into emo/post-hardcore/punk music at the moment
