We also welcome dream pop, noise pop, and blackgaze.
Have we made a chart on what we think are the best shoegaze releases to come out in 2014? That could be fun.
>blackgaze
yeah i want some of that keep it kvlt though
>>53586783
Me too.
>>53586369
bump
also that's a fine pale saints album you have there in the op.
bump again
Listened to this for the first time last night, listening again now. I really don't know what to think about it.
>>53586369
bumppppp
>>53588926
first albums p good idk about this though
>>53588710
ceremony sucks lmao
what does everyone think of jessamine? or kranky as a label in general? listened to most of this yesterday... solid 7.5/10
bump??? :(
>>53588926
It's quite danceable.
More danceable shoegaze?
>>53588926
The sound of a great band losing its way.
Any fans of Flying Saucer Attack?
>>53589352
I like them, that album used ambient stuff much better that any other shoegaze band I've heard, other than maybe slowdive or bowery electric.
I heard LSD and the Search for God were going to put out new stuff.
Is it true?
I like MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS and recently got into Kinoko Teikoku's Uzu Ni Naru. What should I check out next?
So is this the only truly happy sounding shoegaze album? The only thing that I can think of that comes close is like Lush, but that's only partly.
>>53592092
Ringo Deathstarr Color Trip tho
Thoughts?
>>53589150
Soundpool maybe
>>53591921
Luminous Orange
>>53592316
I really like it, I haven't listened to it in a while so I can't really tell you anything specific right now. I like the line "no word's more misused than "absurd," but no word's more absurd than "misused."". Or that least that's the line I remember the most. Also, do people consider this shoegaze? It's like slowcore right? I was recommended it in another shoegaze thread a while ago.

oh man
This is the best album to come out of the whole shoegaze revival of the last fifteen years.
Fight me.
>>53592316
this is way more slowcore/indie than showgaze. people calling slowcore shoegaze triggers my autism lmao.
what do you guys think of seefeel? trip-hopgaze similar to bowery electric.

>>53595610
I hate it more when people use dream pop and shoegaze interchangeably.
Yes, there is a lot of overlap, and if you like one, you should like the other, but following the charts is just one big gamble if you want one but not the other.
>>53595839
yeah but no one with any actual sense of either genre would mix them up, but its an understandable mistake. the most shoegaze slowcore i can think of is probably japancakes or something along those lines
>>53594594
pale saints are too underrated. not sure why the comforts of madness is their most popular though

>that last track
>>53595610
Yeah, just thought I'd toss it out there for the shits.
>>53591921
Well, ロンググッドバイ would make sense. Check out Spangle call Lilli line - Or once you're done with that.
Hey how many of you heard this? It has soem of the most interesting songwriting I've heard in shoegaze, and it's probably the most whimsical-sounding noise pop album too. Kevin Shields' brother was in this band, too, but I don't think he's on this album.
yo
>>53597977
Finally listened to this a few days ago and I was so fucking happy. So, so good. And I love how prominent the bass sounds in a lot of the songs
>>53599319
Yeah it's definitely one of the best shoegaze releases I've heard a long, long, time.
I love it when albums end with horns and shit.
>>53599011
soulgaze
>>53599590
Final track of that blows the rest of the album out of the water.
>>53599319
Listening to it right now, only on the first track, so I can't make a fair judgement yet, but so far it's way more interesting and good than the debut EP.
White Poppy covers Faust's "Jennifer".
